When it comes to trailers to horror movies, there are plenty of good ones as long as the scares are good and don't give away to much of the plot without spoiling it. Some good trailers don't even have any clips from the movie it's advertising.

My favourite trailers have to be the teasers for Bram Stoker's Dracula and An American Werewolf in London. I like how the tease for Dracula mainly shows blood collecting together to spell out Dracula while showing quick flashes of a few of the characters. What I like about the teaser for American Werewolf is the how it is silent at first but the music slowly builds when the puddle of water with a full moon it's reflection slowly turns blood red and a hairy paw of a beast splashes the puddle and freeze frame showing the title. Now that's a trailer.

What are your favourite horror trailers?

Somewhere In The Ether…

I remember years ago a great trailer for the film, Rawhead Rex.

The film itself is admittedly and perhaps justifiably, not without its fair share of critics, but I actually rather enjoyed it

If you want a great trailer for an infamously gobshite film, then this is it.

Prophecy (1979) was a big-budget horror film from respected director John Frankenheimer, starring Talia "Yo, Adrian" Shire, but it was let down by a really crap monster, which looked cross between a bear and an angry Peperami.
