"Oh no!!!
Hagrid will be mentioned a lot, but he was absolutely brilliant in Cracker. I can still remember the chilling one with the traumatised Liverpool fan.
Was he old?"
I loved Cracker. He was 72. |

Completely agree and I was literally just talking to my husband about that. Very controversial at the time but exceptionally well done and very gritty drama. |

Really really sad…. He was a pioneer in the fact that before him you didn’t really see comedians being given the chance to be serious actors.. and he absolutely smashed it with cracker!!
The fact that some people will know him best for his comedy, some for his serious tv work and the youngest for Harry Potter shows the range he had! |

"RIP
My first memory of Robbie was in the 'Comic Strip Presents.....', long before I saw any of his serious acting.
A great actor.

My favourite of his work was the brilliant BBC series Tutti Frutti with Emma Thompson. On film I loved his supporting part in Mona Lisa, as Bob Hoskins' mechanic mate. |

I also first recall him in tutti frutti and regret it was never repeated.

My first experience of him was in A Kick Up the 80s, the The Comic Strip before seeing him in a couple of different roles in The Young Ones.
It was only towards the end of the 80s that he started taking things seriously and smartening up his act. He was previously infamous for having bean-feasts whilst on location for the express purpose of grossing out co-stars through copious farting. He gained the nickname "Slobbie Coltrane", one he was keep to lose once Mona Lisa brought him real credibility. |

RIP Robbie Coltrane.
An actor whose appeal crossed generations thanks to Cracker and Hagrid.
His character Fitz in Cracker was brilliantly cast and brilliantly played, a flawed genius that was so relatable. I think that it’s rime that I revisited Cracker. |

Not sure if anybody mentioned him in the 4 part drama National Treasure - a completely different and serious role which depicts him as a liar and cheat if I remember rightly.
What a loss!
RIP Robbie |
