"Solar powered lights.
Blankets"
Solar lights not so good in winter, often not enough sunlight to charge them up (maybe different down South where you are). Definitely not inside the house.
Candles and lots of fluffy blankets |

If. The pertinent word is if, not when.
Look beyond the headlines and you'll see the contingency planning is that industrial sites 'may' have blackouts to protect domestic properties.
So to answer your question, if there is no light or heat in my workplace I'll go home. |

I’ve got enough Yankee Candles around the place to light the whole street.
I was earlier browsing Amazon for a camping torch but I didn’t decide on one as I have a bit of a temperature and might choose the wrong one in my vulnerable state

I'm sure they have said this every year for the last 4 or more...
I do have a box... I've always got solar powered stuff... they are quite good even with a bit of light.
Have a wind up torch and a generator if things get really bad.. and the camping stuff |

I've got a great solar powered light, that can be left charging for many days, before use.
If I have the time, I'd gladly do more exercise to heat me up.
Goid, cosy blankets are in my cupboards too |

Erm, nothing. When it happens it will be during daylight hours Nd there'll be notice. I will probably just take the kids to the park or for a walk through the woods or something. Just need to make sure I have some petrol in my car and charge on my phone. |

It won't be daylight between 4-7pm, which are the hours being floated for it happening, if it does |

"Are the folk that continually trot out the statement “sheeple”…..just sheeple themselves? There’s enough of them shouting it. "
Once someone uses the term sheep or sheeple they have made themselves irrelevant |

We due to all this recent bad depressing news I’ve decided to start a new business … cuddle bank ! So if you have nobody to cuddle this winter to help keep you warm you now have somewhere to turn, this is not a sexual service and not to be used as a wank bank ! I’m also available with a torch during blackouts
Stay warm fellow fabbers |

Mate. Must have a huge phone if you can fit “the internet” on it.
Otherwise you need to connect to a mast, which needs power… |

"So long as they do it when I’m asleep
I think the plan is for the nation to have a power nap between 4 & 7pm
"
Like I say, a lot of folk will be travelling home, then wanting to cook and get the house warm for the evening.
Push it back to 9pm and I’ll happily have an early night. |

I’m cutting down and sawing anything that stays still in my garden and paddock.
Have enough seasoned wood for the winter and now have enough for the next.
Will just sleep downstairs if it gets a bit chilly in front of the fire. Told my neighbours as well they are welcome to come in and avail themselves of the warmth I’m out. |

"cant see it happening,,
It did during the Miners strike of 1972.
It did. The four day week, petrol rationing. People working in offices wearing head torches. "
Ironically after the Tory government decimating the coal industry in 70/80's
They are now talking about reopening said coal powered power plants, like Truss n co are the saviours of the country.
When they where the one's who fucking shut them in first place bunch of fucking assholes.
Without wanting to be a doom monger
The way things are going with Putin we are all going to be very warm soon anyway. |

I remember power cuts as a child, and sitting around a candle lit table in the dark. We had a candle in our bedroom and my sister caught the table alight, messing around with it.

Just think how many people now have smart meters! They can all be switched off remotely by the suppliers! Didn't realise this when they where being fitted, they can also change the tariff now 48 times in an hour so its will be pay though the nose at tea or dinner times |

Or the other way of looking at it, you will pay a lot less if you use your power outside of peak hours. |

If the hours they are saying are right, it’s not much to plan for 3 hours of outage.
So evening meal already in the slow cooker ready to eat, dinner by candlelight, then board games or cards for entertainment. As for staying warm, flip the heating on an hour before outage, that will keep the flat warm for 3 hours, add a blanket if needed.
Like normal times really, except dinner by candlelight |

"If there's blackouts does that mean a reduction/rebates in energy bills
Lol. Not likely
Truss dot com will no doubt get one or not a give a final payment due to lower usage "
They'll just put it on expenses.
Their horses will be warm, and the vulnerable who need medical devices can pound sand and pay for warm horses through taxes. |
