I think skincare can be ridiculously expensive especially for those with skin problems.
I spent years trying to find a face cream that moisturised sufficiently and doesn’t look greasy. It’s under £50 so could be a lot worse but it works.
Fragrance I wait until it’s on offer and buy it then. I feel much better when it’s not quite so extortionate  |

Yes. I used to buy high end products on eBay, which are often companies selling off stock in old packaging etc, but even that’s too expensive now. A couple of products from Aldi’s Lacura range were amazing for my sensitive skin but they’ve decided to discontinue them (the bastards).
The Ordinary is good - takes a bit of research, but it’s affordable stuff. |

There is a website to check the serial numbers for use by dates, particularly mascara and lipstick as it dries out, I would buy Urban decay & Too faced for the girls when they were teens this way saved a small fortune. I buy high end stuff like Bobbi Brown & Dior in Dubai now it’s loads cheaper than the UK. |

In November they have a sale in lieu of Black Friday - all month to encourage more mindful spending. I know it's still a sale etc, but it's a good time to stock up. (On their own website) |

Swapped pricey moisturiser for a cheap one and use hylauronic acid from Ordinary. Much cheaper. Makeup I find hard to budget though. I’m just too metro. |

Don’t it’s infuriating.
I was looking at a new shavers / beard trimmer last month. It was £60 and I thought I’ll see if it drops down in a sale… checked last night and it’s gone up to £100 wtf?! Loads of others have gone up double the price. They weren’t on offer either at their old price  |

If anyone uses the Aveeno face wash and moisturiser “calm and restore” line it’s half price at Sainsburys. It’s great for sending skin and the winter dryness |

Yes I've got some of that.
Best stuff for dry facial skin I've found is this hemp/cannabis cream that you can get from the 'body shop'. Works better than anything else I've tried.  |

I really like the skincare options in Holland & Barrett these days - they have all the cruelty free, organic, free from nasties brands and usually really good deals. I know it sounds an unusual place to buy skincare but they've got masses of ranges.
Also, for high quality skincare and makeup for much less than the High Street I rate Beauty Pie. Seriously good stuff. |

Not sure why it says sending skin  * sensitive skin
But yeah it’s good 
Not seen that I just know the Aveeno calm and restore line & Neutrogena hydro boost - which is very similar and I highly recommend |

9 out of ten people we gave a free sample to says that their skin looked better in ways we can't be held legally liable for and thus mean nothing. It's sciency because numbers and person in a white lab coat. Totes legit. |

Mine isn't overly expensive as I don't use that much. I have Aveeno Moisturiser that I use which is about £20 for 2 bottles every couple of months and a toner for my face to keep it clear. Any kind of scent I rarely use other than special occasions which don't happen often and same with any kind of hair product |

I did manage to find a retail pack of my preferred deodorant for a bargain price recently. A box of 8 for £6, so I bought 2.
Amazon were also doing Gillette Fusion Pro razors with 11 blades for £19 so I snapped that up. That being said I never liked Gillette blades and I've noticed the difference in my skin compared to the expensive Cornerstone blades I've been using for the past 4 years. |

Usually I'd agree but 11 Gillette Fusion blades plus the handle for under £20 is well under what even Gillette are offering so I thought I'd give it a go.
I really liked the Cornerstone blades, the only negative I had was that the handle is a bit slippy if your hand is wet. |

That's a lot of moola for shower gel. Is there any way that you could ask 'what's-her-face' to rub you down with an abrasive body mitt in the shower? It would reduce your shower gel OPEX. |

Whats-her-face would probably use 80-grit sandpaper just for shizzles so I'm safer paying over the odds for gentle herbal stuff! |

Yeah, this, moved onto some Lacura products recently and have been using the ordinary serums for a while too. Quite content with both.
Shop around, do some reading, don't believe the hype too much.
Good diet, sleep hygiene, sun screen and hydration will do far more than the most potent creams and lotions.
Also the genetic lottery.

I'm debating splurging out on Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. I've always wanted it and now I've got a job it's a special treat I can afford. But fuck me, I could almost buy a car with the amount it costs. A very small toy car but still.
I do love skincare. Nivea and The Ordinary have always served me well. I can't recommend Dermatica highly enough too if you have acne... it's the only cream that keeps my face free from awful breakouts.
I just want something a bit more luxurious for those fine lines that are appearing! And now Winter is coming my skin will dry up like crazy.  |

I don't notice the price generally, i don't have much choice in what i use. I use Simple Moisturising Cream with an sunscreen element to it. I can't have perfume, colour or anything crap in it. I buy it from Tesco, Amazon or occasionally Boots. The tubes i buy are very simple plain bottles which stand upside down and once at the end of it i then cut it in half and use the rest of the cream inside. I hate waste. Superdrug used to do their own but it was in a complicated container and had a lot of waste.

It IS pricey. I use a L'Oréal serum/moisturiser that suits me, absorbs easily, and feels good, but at £30 for 30 ml it's the most expensive liquid I've ever bought by some margin. And I like NICE wine. |

My Co-op pharmacy has a £1 shelf. I stock up on branded products every time I go in. I may have 3 extra bottles of argan oil shampoo and conditioner, I may have 4 extra bottles of the oil, I may also have 3 extra olay moisturisers but they only cost a quid.
I refuse to pay the extra price for a brand, especially when most generic products work just as well as branded ones. |

Correct. And also aftershave is rarely present on most fragrance lines because shaving balm has become the 'de rigueur' for soothing freshly shaved skin. Astringent alcohol has little 'soothing' properties.
Cologne seems to be the best halfway house when it comes to the longevity of scent versus price. |

Yes, yes, and yes. And I've finally run out of the last of my Creed Selection Verte, having eked it out for many years. That was a proper eau de parfum, but discontinued ages ago.
Encre Noir is a lovely evening scent at a very reasonable price, though. |

I had a gorgeous No 5 oil some years ago which lasted and lasted. I like my perfume to be unobtrusive and only noticable to people who come close to me, this did the job perfectly but I've never been able to find it since |

Currently being minded and fed by a fab friend, last night she remonstrated me for my lax skin care routine. Smothered my face in about four layers of different cleanser, serum, cream and moisturiser, including some hydrowhatsit acid potion. I'm almost disappointed this morning that my skin didn't dissolve and fall off during the night |
