It’s that time of year when you can’t beat
A house all snuggly and warm with some heat
If it’s too chilly
It shrinks down your willy
Which isn’t a good look for your man meat! |

You should always test it before it gets too winter time.
Once your in it and your system fails to work you can and will be sat in the cold. |

Wood burner went on at the weekend and has been on every evening.
I brought a new portable gas heater yesterday, haven't needed to switch it on yet. Just trying to get delay switching the central heating on for as long as possible. |

Yes, have to confess I finally did it the other day. Only for an hour or so in the evening - been getting a wee bit cold in Scotland haha

Still wearing a tshirt & leaving the kitchen door open for the dog. My fingers were a little cold this morning but warmed up once I started typing. Our boiler doesn’t appear to be working & we have no hot water either.

Not yet, we are trying to hold out until Nov (not sure if that's even feasible now!). More clothes on around the house and blankets on the sofa.
We have British Gas coming in a couple of weeks to service the boiler so hoping all will be ok |

I will check it’s all working ok today by cracking it up a whole 0.5 degrees above what ever the temp is but then to be honest it’s just not cold enough to have it in really.
Part of the reason people feel the cold so quick is cause they just don’t bother trying to put up with it. When I was a kid old people did not use heating lol |

They are brilliant and heat the room a bit too, Some of them can be very expensive to run though probably more than the heating so worth doing a bit of research. |

I have had a fire every night for the last week.
Managed to get the house to a toasty 25.
I don’t like the cold.
I will probably run the heating every so often to keep it functioning but rely on the fire for the main warmth. |

The cost of living crisis has evaded Fab it seems!
I've started wearing my dressing gown all day in the house. Made sure the kids all have warm blankets in their rooms.  |

We normally wait until October but are holding out until November this year if we can…
Extra jumpers, two throws on the sofa and lots of physical exercise to keep warm 
We refuse to wear pyjamas though. |

using a wall greenhouse cover is ample enough over a radiator to create the old airing cupboard
or used with an electric heater
no one ever fits a small rad into the old airing cupboard to help dry clothes |

Not put heating on yet try to hang on until mid October.
Still have 4.5 tog duvet on king size bed but have changed to brushed cotton fitted sheet and duvet cover. |

We're on brushed cotton bottom sheet and pillow cases most of the time. Love brushed cotton! |

My eldest has offered to increase their board if they can put the electric oil filled radiator on as their room is so cold 
I’ve bought some fluffy socks & proper pair of slippers with a back on them - if my feet are warm the rest of my body will think it’s warm |

I’m still in shorts skirts an T shirts
I rarely use heating in middle of winter
I can honestly say I’ve not had heating on in my bedroom since I moved out my parents house 30 years ago and usually leave my bedroom window open all year round |

I'm waiting till absolutely freezing. Bought a nice thick sherpa oversized jumper that's keeping me toasty at nights. I think only time I'm gonna put the heating on before December will be if I get a meet! |

My flat's like that. Surrounded by trees, so never really gets warm, except in high summer |

Mine has been on for a little while most mornings for the last couple of weeks.
I put it on last night for half an hour when I got in because I got rained on and was cold.
If it's below 19 in the morning it goes on until I feel warm. |

It’s been on for half an hour to take the edge off the nip, and to assist some laundry airing.
Other than that, it’s staying off when it’s costing a quid an hour to run. |
