One i never tire of watching is " as good as it gets".
Never was keen on Nicholson as an actor. Too OTT for my liking. But wow , in that movie he was awesome , was the rest of the cast. And the script. |

The Godfather, including the sequel, but not the third iteration!
The Apartment from 1960 is very good.
Ben Hur from 1959 is stunning, with a good story and multiple layers.
The Deer Hunter is outstanding!
The Italian Job from 1969
The Day of the Jackal from 1973, but not the second version which is dreadful. |

Probably a huge difference between “the greatest” and “your favourite”. My favourites include Gladiator, Godfather and Godfather 2. “The greatest” probably include Citizen Kane, Gone With The Wind and some shit by Hitchcock |

I thought the Deer Hunter was shite. Watched it twice just to make sure I hadn’t missed something

Getting Off (1979) - with the beautiful Desiree Cousteau
Julian and Alexandria, two veteran San Francisco sexualists, are initiating their latest protégé, the beautiful Marpassa, to the unique practice of getting off. Marpassa listens as Alexandria leads us through a sexual odyssey of unleashed passions! Sexual humiliation, bondage mixed with strong super hot sex scenes make this film sexually electrifying. |

"Lawrence of Arabia "
Davis Lean was a director of astounding ability who created many masterpieces including Ryan's Daughter, and Bridge on the River Kwai, which bears no close resemblance to the lives of the POWs at the hands of the Japanese military.

"For a war film full metal jacket is good. I can’t think of others, it’s early. "
There is a whole list of great war films:
Battle of Britain
The Longest Day
A Bridge too far
Battle of the River Plate
Charge of the light brigade
Zulu
And many more |

For decades, the motion picture that was reputed to be best ever made was Citizen Kane, starring the enigmatic and troublesome Orson Wells.
I have only seen snippets, but I would not be enticed to watch it; it is reputed to be based on the life of William Hurst. |

The first Star Wars film certainly created an impression among my brothers, our friends (and probably every other person who saw it) and me. I thought it changed cinema forever and could not believe what I saw on screen. If you say the best is the one you recall causing the most reaction, I'd say that film. |

Two very different films that I particularly enjoy, and which I originally saw in a cinema were:
In the heat of the night, from 1967; with Sydney Poitier and Rod Steiger,
and:
Trading Places, from 1983, with Dan Ackrord, Eddie Murphy, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
I only learned today that the latter is shown every Christmas in Italy where it is especially revered.
Furthermore, a statute, a law regarding illegal trading on the New York Stock Exchange is actually called, colloquially, The Eddie Murphy Law.
That is a phenomenal and unprecedented accolade! |

I neglected to mention that Jamie Lee Curtis, in the tight red dress in Trading Places, has undoubtedly, unarguably, the most magnificent breasts ever to have featured on screen in a motion picture, in my opinion. |
