Which side of the bed do you sleep on? And do you do the same thing in a new bed? (Hotels or a move? )
*I’m not sure I stick to the same side… and I’m not sure why that is, I thought I would be a routine type person. |

I sleep on the left side of the bed wherever I am. I am a side sleeper and face the left when falling asleep. I certainly do not want to be facing anyone as I drift off. I prefer a back to back sleeping partner who sleeps on the right side, facing the right. I end up having nightmares if anyone is holding on to me as I fall asleep. Not sure why :/ |

Are we talking from the perspective of looking up from the bottom or else stood behind the headboard?
I’m a right hand man (if stood behind the board) ……(although I can’t actually fit around the back as the bed’s against the wall) |

I have a full sized double bed, but everything else on the bed is king-sized: duvets (three different tog weights) duvet covers, sheets, etc.
As I normally sleep alone at home, I am a Sprawler; neither one preferred side nor the other.
When my fwb sleeps over, we someimes offload everything onto the floor, in order not to be restricted by the bedspace! |

"wherever the dog allows me
I would never ever let a dog on my bed. "
I sleep on the right side, nearest the door to deal with the kids..... But My Jack Russell (who passed away in February) we would sleep in the middle, surprising how much room a little dog would take up!!!! So I'd sleep on the right edge of the bed |

My very first thought.
Stood behind the headboard/laid on my back, I always have the left side of the bed, her ladyship the right*. We maintain this wherever we go.

*This simple division suggests an even split which isn't true. A more accurate description is the small triangular bit of the bed I'm allowed to fit around her starfish is always on the left. |

"There is only me in it so which ever side I like!
** Gentlemen are supposed to sleep nearest the door to protect the lady …. Just for ref "
Protect her from what?
What if an intruder breaks in through the window?
What if the thing she most needs protecting from is a little urinary incontinence at 3.27am as she stumbles around the room trying to get to the toilet?

This is true but I have to get up to the loo at least once every night!
I’ll sleep on the right at home but in hotels, nearest the bathroom !! |

I’m right-handed, so I sleep on my left side, keeping my right hand and arm free to do interesting things. It is also the “recovery position” for people in shock.
This means that I leave room for bed-mates on my left, so I sleep on the right side of the bed, looking towards the foot from the head.

If I'm in bed with someone, I sleep on their side with them.
Fixed my typo"

When we are on holiday or staying in hotels I always make hubby sleep closest to the door incase a murderer breaks in, then I have a chance to escape and save myself |

"If you are standing at the foot of the bed Mr would be on the right and me on the left and we stick to this wherever we sleep."
I’m if I’m standing at the foot of your bed, I think I would scare you. |

"Nope. I sleep on the right in my bed at home but when I was with my ex I slept on the left. When I slept alone at uni I slept mostly on the right. "
Have you often wondered where you would sleep if you were in my bed?…. |

I sleep nearest the door?
I learnt to sleep nearest the door because if anyone gets in the get me before her. Developed when I was little (5 or 6) and dad was working away, my sister would get in or we'd get in with mum.
It sounds a little silly I've always instinctively done it since. |

"My hubby always sleeps nearest the door, me on the other side so it changes all depending on where the door is where we are! "
This ‘next to the door’ thing seems to be a thing for guys. I like the idea and sentiment of it. I just hope she’ll scream loudly and wake me up in time to jump out the window from any danger.
*When my arms are around her when we sleep on anyside of the bed, I’m sure she’ll feel safe. |
