I liked the end of ET when the Mayor jumped in the F-16 at the end and shot the little bugger out the sky.

Somewhere In The Ether…

Anyone seen, No Way Out starring Kevin Costner?

The twist (without giving it away) comes from a seemingly irrelevant sub story which the viewer forgets about amidst the main action; when it suddenly reappears at the end though and the twist is revealed - whoa! Great ending!

The Orphanage which is a Del Torro film completely threw me at the end.

I guess it’s similar to Sixth Sense in that you have to watch again to see it with knowing the ending.

Yes! El Orfanato. It's probably one of my favourite films, I love the way Del Toro blends the supernatural effortlessly with human nature. Poignant and dark, hard hitting and so good.

No, this one features the very sadly missed Bill Paxton who ‘receives a message from God’ telling him to kill sinners, a mission which he gets his sons to join him on.

But the twist is…..

Some great shouts here on this thread already with Deathtrap, (Sleuth has to be mentioned in the same breath too), The Others and Sixth Sense, (obvious now but not when it was released as he was an unknown director) but my contribution has to be

Gone Baby Gone - not only did I not see it coming but then gives you an impossible quandary about what would you do in that same situation. Highly recommended.

One of my favourite kinds of movies but some mentioned I really wouldn’t recommend

The others is particularly bad!

Saw “Crawdads” the other day liked it well enough but saw the twist coming a mile off!

My recommendations are:

Primal fear - an early performance by the incredible Ed Norton

Identity - always love a bit of John cusack

Now you see me - love a good heist film with a twist too

Final analysis

Gone baby gone

Last night in soho

Prisoners

Intruders (2015) the Beth riesgraf one

But for me the best one is

The game - starring Michael Douglas and Sean penn
