Everybody likes a good jump scare in a film now and then, right?
Good folks of FAB; What are your favourite ones of all time?
Simply list them here and let’s all reminisce fondly of these treasured moments when we collectively shat ourselves |

"The trouble with jump scares is that they tend to follow certain tropes and you become desentsitised to them"
Absolutely; I sadly, seldom even flinch these days as one tends to be able to see them coming a mile away (especially in modern horror films)
Having said that, every now and then a scene surprises me; The lawnmower death scene in Sinister got me a good’un as did the completely unexpected and very dramatic death of a certain character in the film, The Forgotten - which was superbly done |

My favourite one was when I made my husband watch The Golden Child. Near the end, when you think all the scary stuff is over, Charles Dance's character comes up from beneath the floor. My husband literally jumped. The film is more a comedy than anything, so that still makes me smile |

Who can forget the head in the boat scene in Jaws for an all time classic jump scare?
There’s a delightful jump scare also in Exorcist 3 involving a looney and some garden shears. If you’ve ever seen the film, you’ll most certainly remember the scene I’m referring to…. |
