My West ‘Lundun’ accent does me no favours with the ladies.

Conversely I’m an absolute sucker for a Geordie or Mackem accent (something to do with a girl I use to see when I was in my teens).

I’d like to acknowledge they are different accents before all the northern fabbers bring a shitstorm down on me for lumping people from Sunderland and Newcastle all in one group.

I have a northern Irish accent, but the novelty wears off pretty quick for the ladies when I start talking so quickly they have no idea wtf I'm saying

When I lived in the States my English accent worked wonders. Not so good here though

Yes it does. I have often used voice memos and the girls I'm with liked it.

It’s never gotten me a ride before but how would I know as I’m pretty crap at picking up the vibe.

Once at a festival my mates were walking in front of me ,there was a group of English lassies behind me. They were carefully listening to my friends Scot’s accents and were very complementary in their comments.

"I've definitely been more attracted to people with certain accents so I would say it does work . A lot of northerners think I'm posh too which can be an attraction for some. "

You're very well spoken

Definitely, an Irish accent seems to work a charm for our North American friends & those from the Southern Hemisphere

The English accent overseas has worked well for me - especially in the US (almost a cliche that)

Seems from the replies since I posted that a Glaswegian accent is more popular than I thought
