"I really liked the 3rd film in the _rilogy that the OP mentioned, "day of the dead"..which came after "dawn".. There's a real bleakness to "day of the dead"..and sense of dread that I really like. American werewolf in London has been mentioned, I also think that's a classic. There's an old black and white film, called "carnival of souls" that I can recommend. Its clever and quite ahead of its time and really creepy. Some modern horror films ive liked have been "howl" -british werewolf film set on a train that breaks down in the middle of nowhere (I think its meant to be somewhere in scotland)..and "it follows"..which I thought was quite an interesting story and original. (I think certain sci films can cross over to the horror genre. There's a bunch of them I like too.) " Day of the Dead is great- I’m with you this is one of the best horror movies. American Werewolf in London is top 5 for me. Classic. The others I have not seen but will try seek out

For those who haven't, it was about a 17th century evil warlock is sent by the Devil to the present day (the late 1980s) to find his Bible (known as the Grand Grimoir) that has the power to destroy all of creation and it's up to a 17th century witch hunter and his present day companion to stop him." Eeee that infamous nipple scene in the latter film had we wincing The New York Ripper is really gory as times. I think it’s the nastiest film I’ve seen from Fulci. Have you seen any Dario Argento or Umberto Lenzi films? Oh yes indeed; I’m a big fan of Italian cinema from the 1970’s/80’s era. Bava, Argento, Deodato, Lenzi, Mattei, Margheriti etc. Often cited in a derogatory manner from some cinematic purists as ‘B’ movies, but they were invariably incredibly fun to sit through and always moved at a cracking pace " Awesome - Great filmmakers from a golden era. They were making movies on small budgets but managed to create enormously entertaining films

"Any fans of Italian Horror?? Do the names Lucio Fulci and Dario Argento mean anything to you? Amen! I love Fulci’s Zombie themed output (Zombi 2/Zombie Flesh Eaters, The Gates Of Hell/City Of The Living Dead and The Beyond) - all classics! My man -These are all classics and some of the best horror movies in the entire genre. I recently watched House by the Cemetery and The New York Ripper by Lucio Fulci Brilliant films! Eeee that infamous nipple scene in the latter film had we wincing The New York Ripper is really gory as times. I think it’s the nastiest film I’ve seen from Fulci. I seem to recall a lot of cannibal films in the video shop!!!

Yes they were often referred to as video nasties, some films like Cannibal Holocaust and Zombie Flesh Eaters were banned due to very strict censorship at the time

"Hereditary Just one of the creepiest and most disturbing films I've ever seen. Gen Z's The Exorcist, as one reviewer put it. And Toni Collette is brilliant, as always. Paranormal Activity Another creepy masterpiece. The Mist Great Stephen King 50s-style monster movie with an ending that, for sheer gut renching horror, outstrips King's original novella by miles. Train to Busan Dawn of the Dead (2004 remake) Zombieland 1 & 2 Brilliant zombie films. Why the 2004 DotD? Better story, sprinting zombies and a kick-ass intro perfectly scored by Johnny Cash's "When The Man Comes Around", which just by itself is worth repeated watches on YouTube (Watch the intro now. Trust me, you'll love it.) Kill List A deeply creepy Brit horror, with a bizarre storyline and horribly realistic violence and torture. So uniquely strange and creepy it's hard to describe. It's on Film4 this Friday night, if you fancy checking it out. But be warned, it is disturbing and there are upsetting scenes involving animals. Honourable mentions: Ginger Snaps (the art project opening credits!) REC Raw Night of the Demon (1957) The Devil Rides Out The Innocents (1961) The Haunting (1963) The Witch " Great list - I really like the Dawn of the dead remake and Train to Busan - two great zombie movies

"Hammer Horror Films, the majority of them anyway. I like the technicolour they scream colour at you, costumes, overacting, Christopher Lee, Vincent Price, Peter Cushing even a young Roy Castle shows up in one film. I particularly like the late 60s to late 70’s films as the ladies were very sexy and costumes. I don’t think I’ve ever watched one and turned it off halfway through. Sorry you asked for a film I give you a studio full of them. " I really like 1970s horror, often no to little special effects just a great premise and great filmmaking. I have seen bits and pieces of the Hammer horror movies - I need to watch more of them

"Halloween was good, new ones not that great, Halloween ends will hopefully be the last one.. Agree I liked the original Halloween, Pt 3 and Pt 4. The recent ones didn’t really interest me Part 3?? The only one to ever not have Michael Myers in Yeah they probably should have called it something else but it’s a good stand alone story " Well It does have a very catchy jingle
