Idiotic scientists are reporting that the earth is spinning slower and concentrating on the cause rather than the effect. The effect is global warming obviously because the slower we spin then the less cooling effect . It's like putting your hand out of a car window at 30mph... Feels cool until you reach 50mph and then much cooler...
These science types always look in the wrong direction... |

It’s because we’re being adjusted to decimal time. No more 60 seconds, 60 minutes, etc, we’re heading towards 100 seconds, 100 minutes, and ten months per year.
I’m amazed nobody’s realised!
I noticed straight away when 9 yard rolls of tin foil became 10 metres. I’ve got a large head, I saw the offcuts were getting larger and saw through their plan. But people think I’m daft! |

Tom, Tom! Now I’m confused!
Some sources say the Earth is spinning SLOWER.. like this one:
https://www.independent.co.uk/space/earth-spinning-slower-day-length-b2140840.html?amp
But others say it’s FASTER .. like this one:
https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/earth-spinning-faster-than-usual-shortest-day-ever/#app
What’s going on here!?
I’m confused!! Who’s right!?! |

Maybe it's our friends the Americans using different measurements again? It's like the Mars Climate Orbiter again. Let's party like it's 1999 |

Actually the Earth's rotation is slowing down very slowly due to the friction caused by the gravitational force of the moon. The length of a day increases by 2.3 milliseconds every 100 years. For some reason which astrophysicists are still trying to understand, the Earth spun slightly faster on 29th June this year when we lost 1.59 milliseconds from the day.
I'll leave it to Tom to see if it's all over the news

Dinosaurs only had 23 1/2 hours in the day by the time they went extinct. Given it has taken over 65 million years to loose 30 minutes in every earth rotation I'm not going to loose any sleep over it.
Interestingly, the earth has already slowed the rotation of the moon to the point that its day is the same length as its month. This is why we always see the same side of the moon no matter where it is in the sky. We talk of the dark side of the moon but it isn't dark, it is in daylight when there is a new moon and the side facing us is in darkness. In several billion years the same will happen with the earth and it and the moon will be tidally locked such that an observer on either body would only ever see the same side of the other sphere. Then a lunar month as well as a day would have settled down at somewhere close to 45 of our present day lengths.
