Just had to clean the bin as all the bags inside stunk and were covered in maggots. Another downside to a heatwave

Use one of those big outside bin liners and see if a local service can jet wash them every 6 weeks.

Separate the maggots and feed to birds.

I go around the inside edge of mine with thick bleach, then hose it out periodically and I don't get any problems

I have the elastic hooky things...... can't remember what they are called now.

Also ........ ALL rubbish is in enclosed tied bin bags and the bin is sprinkled with IZAL bin powder.

I'd be sick if flies were breeding next to my front door.

The bin is washed at least 3 times in the Summer months. Never in winter tho.

My bin is always clean. Always.

That's why I don't use the food bin anymore! The bin men damaged it so had big gaps!allways flysheet getting in and they want me to pay to replace it! X
