I have 2

1 the dark Knight...brilliant opening, all the bank robbers killing each other then being introduced to the joker

2 dawn of the dead remake

From when the little girl girl kills and turns the husband and then the scene of utter carnage just tells us what we're in for

I dont think a film has caught the quintessential essence of the films main character as quickly or as well as it did with Tony Stark in the first Iron Man movie

Best opening scene? Alien (1979)

We are given an 8 minute guided tour round a sleeping, dimly lit Nostromo and save for a few computer screens running navigation programs absolutely nothing happens....... but you just KNOW it will!

Matrix. Trinity doing the jump kick just after the agents have warned us that she’s not to be missjudged. And remember, ‘bullet time’ cameras hadn’t existed before. Awesome start to that film.

"The opening nightclub scene in Blade"

My friend worked on this film and apparently Wesley Snipes was d off his head for this entire scene!

But it's such an amazing opener

Conan - the Jason Momoa version. The opening scene of the trial with little Conan killing a bunch of people and rocking up with a fist full of heads and then spitting out his egg - awesome.

A shame the movie fell a bit flat after that.

Definitely this!

I remember Claudia Winkelman getting the Film Review job on the BBC and I was, I admit, sceptical. Until she also picked this as her fave opening and she won me over with her obvious love and knowledge

Jaws, sets the tone for the entire movie in that few minutes.

Gladiator, an epic battle scene.

Saving Private Ryan, brutal depictions of warfare.

Casino Royal, the post opening credits, building site chase sequence.

No Time To Die,

Madeline, "So this is it?"

Bond "Yes this is it"

Madeline, "How will I know you're safe?"

Bond "You won't, you'll never see me again!"

Never did I think the words would be so true.

Jaws, absolutely perfect.

Blade Runner, the fire in the eye (without the narration).

The Spy who Loved Me, skiing over the cliff and the parachute opening.

Subway, Luc Besson film starts with a car chase and Christopher Lambert looking really cool

Streets of Fire, lead singer gets snatched by a biker gang, whilst singing Nowhere Fast.

And finally

Saving Private Ryan, so shocking, traumatic, scary and realistic.
