"Marvel has nothing on the DC animated movies"
Or the series, like Harley Quinn.
Actually, Into The Spider-Verse is pretty amazing, got to acknowledge Marvel there.
But this is no longer the realm of geeks. |

So many Batman incarnations though, some great some terrible, even the comics are variable. When done well can be very dark and gritty but done badly is borderline cabaret! |

Yeah, only issue with Spider-Man is that when his Uncle Ben dies, all I can think about is rice. |

In what way have the ruined it? How was it better before do you think?"
Film studios become lazy just pumping out the same rubbish rather than looking for something new or different. |

That's been happening a long time before Superhero movies though, from the late 70s onwards I think. Studios doing remakes and sequels is lazy profiteering I agree but most of the Marvel franchises have been good films in their own right imo.
Can't really go back to the golden era of Jaws 2! |

I think if DC had the continuity of the films and was made as well as the MCU then it has some really interesting characters but just the way that Marvel has put the MCU together and developed the stories and characters for me, means they take it |

I'm also from the 70s. Yes, those films are all good(not Jaws 2). There are still good films being made of the same calibre now. |

Marvel. DC standalone films are great (Joker, The Batman) but the DCEU is just a poor attempt at copying everything Marvel has done.
The Dark Knight is probably better than anything Marvel have put out though. |

Though the DCEU came after the MCU, the Justice League came first in the comics. And the Avengers was a very clear attempt to piggyback off of the success of the JLA. |

True but my opinion is based on the movies. Other than a couple of Spiderman and superman ones when I was little I didn’t really read comics.
Wonder Woman (although being one of the better DCEU movies) was a rip off of Captain America and Justice League a rip off of Avengers Assemble. |

DC. I love the films and the comics.
Marvel just have mainstream allure but are quite dull and repetitive.

That's true. Except if you read Flashpoint, he didn't do a good job of it?
But then again, in one of many Crisis, Barry ran back in time chasing a bullet.
I don't have a favourite. I like Blue Beetle. Scrappy Kid, Alien suit. He's likeable.
Dream is rather powerful. Y'know... The Sandman they're making a new show about? |

"DC make better TV series and Marvel make better films "
I think the DC series have been truly dreadful. I liked Arrow originally, but went off it.
Whilst The Defenders was awful, like Iron Fist before it, Daredevil was great and Jessica Jones was simply superb.
And Wandavision was incredible. |

at it's best, DC, much more comfortable with the darker side of soops (watchmen anyone ?) nice sideline in kid friendly tv shows too.
but for world building consistency and saturday morning at the flicks fun, it's Marvel |

Yeah but the DC Animated Universe tops all of that. Not just the Movies, all the DC Animated offerings I have seen for the last decade+ have been on the whole amazing |

I agree the animated series is good.. but overall not bringing in the bucks. Not only that they have the capability of doing great, each individual film, man of steel, wonder woman, aquaman was good but on the whole... Avengers endgame over justice League, and that's the downfall |

DC over Marvel personally prefer how dark they go with stories. One of my faves is Batman, Death of the Family, the Joker was a psycho and cruel, also love the dark knight series of novels. Out of the marvel sagas I read my faves are the Dark Phoenix Saga, Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe saga and the both Wolverine origin Stories.

Never gave the Val Kilmer one a chance either, scared of the number of self inflicted head injuries I'd need to unsee it

Which avenue are we talking or is this an all encompassing conversation?
I am Marvel in terms of Comic books and film/TV but DC has some incredible graphic novels and have absolutely nailed the animated side of things.
But in a whole discussion I’d have to say Marvel all the way. The characters on the whole are more down to earth and the stories are just so good.
