I think A LOT about racism. And being in here is great because I learn so much about the experiences of others with other forms of discrimination. Mrs KC teaches me so much about ableism. I learn so much more about misogyny and the experiences of women too. In my job I’m fortunate enough to learn about other forms of discrimination that people face in their lives.
It’s so important to me that we take the time to listen and learn sometimes. And I know sometimes we want the lounge to just be fun and a place to decompress but I just want to say how wonderful it is to learn from some of you in here.
Anyway that’s long.
WHAT HAS THE LOUNGE TAUGHT YOU ABOUT OTHERS?

I like the sheer diversity of folks in here; from all walks of life with wildly varying opinions on a myriad of subjects and all brought together by a shared love of the pleasures of the flesh.

That desire, envy and rejection can cause some people to display some really spiteful and unpleasant behaviour...or, to put it more succinctly, some people are utter c*nts when they don't get what they want! |

I’ve learnt, through life, that we are all c*nts. It’s just that some of us have a longer gap between our c*ntish episodes. |

OP, what I have learnt is that people's perception of your motives is invariably the main factor in how they interpret what you do or say.
Trying to be less certain about others motives is very difficult.

It's taught me that many people have bad reading comprehension. Many people have no sense of humour. Many people take everything literally. And there's no point worrying about what you do in life- some people will appreciate it and others will be pissed off. |
