Are caused by pets alone each year and scientists are asking for cats go be banned in certain locations. How many cats live in the UK?
That's a lot of prey. Has the time come to rethink cat ownership ?

I dislike cats because they seem to really like me. I can't have the back doors open in my house without three of the local fuckers making their way in and thinking this is where they live. I would accept this behaviour with dogs, cats do not listen and scratch stuff.
Sad to say this is the only pussy I get.

It is time to make it law that domestic pet cats are spayed or neutered though x

I did say pet cats not cats registered for breeding, currently it is now illegal to sell kittens without a licence. |

This is not a new problem & is just old news that gets periodically reheated,
Cats are (generally) ruthless killers - which on the whole is bad news for a lot of furry & feathered critters,
Handy down the allotment tho where they keep the rats & mice in check.... |

Having a cat or dog will be significantly more environmentally friendly than having a kid- so maybe you should extend that cull order to them too...plus, nobody with a pet gets a free handout each week or produces large amounts of pollution delivering them and collecting them from school/clubs/friends  |

A lot of pet food is made from by products if human meat consumption.
Just FYI, there is a chemical in meat without which cats cannot survive. They literally don't have an option.

Most of those will be rodents and birds - my house cats are good at killing spiders and flies (and eating them too)
I can see the argument for cats to be microchipped, and also to be house cats (I think Australia brought that law in)
My local ‘Nextdoor’ and ‘Facebook’ feeds are clogged up with people who have lost their dear cats - cats that they treasure so much that they allow them out only to be at risk of being attacked by dogs, other cats or ran over by traffic! |

Why should cats not be allowed to exert their natural predatory instincts?
I suspect that bird and rodent populations are more adversely impacted by human behaviour than standard feline behaviour. |

Over the cause of a month my Bombay has brought me . A rat . A frog and a bat.
The bat was still alive and circled the bedroom till I caught it .
The comment above about cats letting themselves in , I read . There are some thing like 65%, more people who believe they are cat owners than, there are cats in American. |

When I moved house several years ago four different people put up missing posts for my cat.
Despite the fact he had an often replaced collar, a tag with his name, address and my phone number on and was microchipped they all thought they owned him.
This was on top of the two people who had previously thought they owned him until they took him to the vet and they found the chip (that’s when I got collars).
He’s missed most by the local pub as he used to be pest control in their cellar. |
