I think I’m ageing reasonably well (so long as I do my roots regularly) but the process comes in stages! I look the same as I did when I turned 40, I’m prepared for a sudden nosedive at 50 |

I’m happy with how I’m ageing and do get told I look younger than I am.
I spent my 30’s looking after 4 young kids so didn’t have much sleep or time for me.
Now my kids are older I’m able to have more time to look after myself by going to the gym, having my hair done etc..

The furrowed forehead has been there since start of adulthood, more wrinkles, the grey is there a little, I’m a bit squidgy, the boobs are still pointing forwards and my energy levels are good.
So all in all I’d say aye I am aging but really don’t give a kahoots, it’s all part of life and just go with the flow of what it brings. |

For all those saying people keep saying they’re younger than they actually are : that might well be the case but you know, that’s the kind of thing that some people say just to be nice ..
“Happy birthday! How old are you today?”
“I’m 45!”
“Ooh really!” *genuine shock* “why, erm, I thought you were in your 30’s!”
(* really assumed they were in their 50’s but nobody ** EVER ** goes and says they thought you were older do they!? *)

I've never looked my age but I am more frequently told that these days. I meet a lot of new clients and they tell me all the time if age comes up as a topic. I also still participate in active sports with a lot of youngsters'
I don't really care how I look, for me it's more about what I can still do. |

We think we are doing ok for 49 (Mr A) and 47 (Mrs A).
We can send a face pic for those that want to give a second opinion. |

"I often get told I look at least 10 years younger than I am and not old enough to have a 20yr old child.
I think that keeps me young and most of my friends are younger than me.
I love going out with my 25 year old daughter. Nobody believes I’m her mum "
People can be rude when they tell her to check with her grandmother!

I've always been told I look much younger than I am and I'm more than happy with how I'm aging.
I was probably the fittest I've ever been a couple of years ago but hopefully get back there soon. |

I think in general people are ageing a little better in this day and age. The easier lives and more we know about health.
Except bodybuilders and habitual sun bed users. You look have faces from the 1920s |

I’m told by quite a few people that I look like I’m in my mid twenties. I’m actually thirty six. I still get IDed from time to time. I think it’s largely due to genetics but also I’ve always tried to be healthy. Never smoked, taken drugs and rarely drink alcohol. |

I think I've aged about 20years since then.

Yup, as others have said, I think it's mostly down to sun. We know know that it's not good to lie in it all day. |

I think most people look their age. They might look good or less so. Generally I'm quite happy with how I look and the fact I'm almost middle aged doesn't factor in to it. |

I agree. Place people of the same age in a line and they will all look different but very few people will look much younger or older than they actually are. Hands and necks give a pretty good indicator of years lived. |

Yep! Hands are so noticeable, especially on photos on here. I don't see what's wrong with being the age you are and why we place this value on youthful beauty amongst other kinds. |

I think I look ok for an old fart tbh. Pre menopause I think I looked better - I was slim then and the wrinkle fairy hadn’t beaten me up too much.
However - I eat fairly healthily and exercise regularly and don’t smoke/drink heavily or take drugs - which I think has helped me to not look like a complete hag yet.
I still scrub ok as my granny would have said. X |

There's nothing wrong with being any age in my opinion, it's not as if it's negotiable .
I suppose youthful beauty is valued for all the traditional and cultural reasons we know so well. I use cream to try and hold back the vertical mouth lines (its not working) but nobody is going to believe me if I tell them I'm 40.
Also I don't believe the people who message me to tell me I only look forty |

I’m not bad for almost 45 I reckon. But I dislike “for your age” and wouldn’t ever say that to a woman. It’s like a back handed compliment. I’d say, “you look good” and not qualify it |

I spent my 30’s looking after 4 young kids so didn’t have much sleep or time for me.
Now my kids are older I’m able to have more time to look after myself by going to the gym, having my hair done etc..
I quite like me in my 40’s. "
