I only have experience with guys' profiles but there seems to be an awful lot of them in their 30s who've had a very hard life...

What does it achieve? I guess it means you'll be more likely to be in people's age ranges but one look and the truth is out.

I find a lot of men on here lie about their ages, especially if they are reaching their 50's. The one's I've chatted to say it's because women won't look at anyone over 45.

I think a lot of people lie. Men for their height then their age . Ladies over 50 I’ve found lie more then don’t.

Met a few ladies with strategic angled photos to disguise their true body shape. I’m sure men do with d pics too.

It's really annoying when trying to use the search. I'm attracted to men upto mid to late 40s but I usually end up lowering the upper age filter on the search because of how many people it brings up who are clearly well into their 50s. It's kind of unfair to those who are honest.

I actually quite like being 42, no idea if I’m ageing well, but I feel like I’ve lived a life so far and there’s plenty of plans and challenges ahead.

Wasn’t tempted to change (lie about) my age because, well… I guess there’s a balance, if you believe your “niche” will be out there somewhere on this site then when you do finally digitally bump into each other your chances of hitting it off, to me are much better than the streams of rejection you would get by not telling the truth about your age..

I think the driving force is generally to get round age filters, and I've seen plenty of women do it. What tickles me is when the same person has different ages on different profiles...if you're going to lie at least be consistent.

To some (like me) it is just a number. The age we feel can often match the attitude of someone younger or older and we can’t get away from that. I’ve fancied someone older and younger than the age group I think o should or am usually attracted to.

People lying about their age to get round filters is an instant block for me.

It’s a respect and consent thing for me. If someone has clear boundaries then they should be respected. Just because you’re 19 and like older men/women doesn’t make it ok to make your profile say 27 so you can contact them because it’s what YOU want. Ditto making your profile say 50 when you’re 65.

My thinking on that is that if people have zero respect for one very clear wish and boundary i have then why on Earth would I trust that they’re safe enough with any other boundaries I have?

My wish for sex doesn’t make it ok for me to ignore peoples boundaries. Other people’s wish for sex doesn’t make it ok for them to ignore mine.

I do think that lying about your age in here is a consent issue, same as lying about other things that people use as filters and preferences.

If you meet someone and you’re 50 years old and married, when your profile says 40 and single, did that person consent fully to that interaction?

If you lied to manipulate them into sex, that’s a very questionable thing
