"If it was half of all men, I’d think it was low. I could be wrong but I guess there’s a lower percentage of women that watch it? "
If I remember rightly, it was 50% of men and 16% of women. (The maths started to give me a headache at that point.) |

I wouldn't have a clue if our friends watched porn or not. Both of us do, on occasion and I'm sure our son does, so that's 100% of people in this household. |

Your internet provider probably shared the data with them

I know I ask too many questions but when I see a statistic like this I just wonder what it's based on.
What do they mean by porn?
How did they arrive at a figure of 50%, if porn is being accessed on one device how do they know it's always the same person watching? If they used a survey (you'd be amazed at some of the surveys Saga put out) did they factor in people lying? Did they count people who only watched it once or twice?

A bit of context, it’s a survey taken during the pandemic on streaming services
Half the adult population of the UK watched online pornography during the pandemic, according to a projection by Ofcom.
The media regulator found that 26 million individuals viewed adult material in September 2020.
By far the most popular site was P***H**, which was visited by 15 million people – 50% of men, and 16% of women, with internet access – giving the site a far larger audience than mainstream television channels such as Sky One, ITV4 and BBC News. |

To be fair I turned the news off in summer 2020, if I needed to know something I did a quick scan of the headlines, as did so many people I know. So I could actually believe that stat during that time period. |
