Curious as to why football fans follow the team they do
I used to keep an eye on Aston Villa as they had a few Republic of Ireland players I recognised from when Jack was in charge of our team |

I supported Liverpool for about two weeks when I was 11, then my Dad found my poster of them.
He explained that Liverpool was 30 something miles away but Burnden Park was just over 2 miles from our front door.
Still didn’t sink in but as I couldn’t get a ticket at Anfield I went to see Bolton instead. Been a fan ever since ….for my sins.
Simply put, they’re my home town club so I support them. |

Southend United was my local team.
La Berrichonne de Chateauroux is my local team now!!!
Shit football with no glory but both teams are in my heart and I love them both!!!

My late uncle was a gooner and I was his surrogate son as they couldn’t have children, he took me to my first game with Lee Dixon scoring the only goal against stoke, 1-Nil to the Arsenal ensued and the club was firmly cemented in my heart.
So proud that both my daughters have now had the same experience, becoming fans too! |

My Dad and Grandad supported them, took me as a kiddie and once you’ve been there once and got the passion, there’s no going back!
You can change your girlfriends, wife, Jobs, music etc. But once you’ve made your choice of team, that’s it for live! You can never go back!
Where I grew up and went to school was technically in the main catchment area for our local rivals who are bigger and wealthier, so I used to get a bit of stick at school.
And for years and years we’ve been woeful, you big club / Premier League team supporters just wouldn’t tolerate it.
But every now and then, once in a blue moon, something exceptional happens with your team that makes all the years of pain worthwhile!
Right now, I’m smiling!

I haven't been to a game in a loooooong time. They are my local team. I could hear the roar of the crowd every home game, the ground is about 3 miles away but it carried because there wasn't as much noise pollution way back then. |

"Not interested in football. To commercialised, too much money involved and they are wannabe film stars at falling over. "
You’ve clearly never been to lower / non-league game have you? The Premier League doesn’t represent them at all, that’s a sanitised commercial and vastly overpaid league for sure, the wealth really doesn’t cascade down the leagues at all. |

When I was a kid n the early 80's I grew up surrounded by glory hunting londoners supporting Liverpool. I'm from SE London and my local clubs are Palace and Charlton. Then I saw Brooking and Devonshire playing for West Ham and being a little midfield dynamo myself thought this is the team for me! |

368 miles just for every home game, husband is Celtic season ticket holder, tries to get to every away game too. I'm Newcastle, get when I can. Looking forward to what could happen with the riches they have, just wished it came by another route |

"I support Man United because my older brother does and I wanted to have something in common with him when I was younger
Aw that's quite sweet "
Thank you, it's also great because after the last few years, I don't think I can be called a glory hunter anymore |

I'm a born and bred Leicester boy, was never going to be any other team than the mighty Foxes!
There may have been a few years I regretted not being born elsewhere, but after the last few years, I'd not change anything for the world! |

Rangers as I was born in the very shadow of Ibrox Stadium, at Motherwell Maternity.
And also as they won a European trophy in my birth year. I'm hoping they can repeat that in my 50th year. |

I'm a Chelsea fan but Brentford was my closest team. The bees were in the old 4th div. And Chelsea were in the first so I mostly went there as I got to see top class football fist game I went to at Chelsea was in 1965 I was 11 and basically followed them ever since |

Rangers - My dad supports them and it's carried on through the family. I continue to support them because I remember how happy he was whenever they were having a particularly good season and we can talk for ages about it. I would like my son to follow them too but I won't pressure him into it since St Mirren is more his local team.
Couldn't give a toss about the religious/political aspect of the club. The team and club itself is all I care about. |

I have been a West Ham fan for over 40 years now..there has been a lot of ups and downs...infact mostly downs but in the last 2 years we have really improved under David Moyes and I hope this will continue but only if our owners actually back the manager. |

Boundary Park plastic pitch in the cup runs, the legendary Joe Royle in charge, founding premiership club.
Now in ruins at the hands of an idiot & set to play against Dog & Duck FC in non league next season.
A long sad fall being an Oldham fan |

No matter who we all support and all the banter that gets thrown about. Let's all take a moment for the 56 who lost their lives in the Bradford City fire 37 years today |

Hubby : Chelsea since age 4 when they won the FA Cup 1970. Ist game live 1976 Oxford away 1 all draw.
Hotwife: Chelsea since meeting Hubby .
Been to games from standing on crumbling concrete of the old Shed to the modern day.
Only missed a handful of home games this season. Always a good few beers in " The Butcher's" across the road pre match.
Down at Wembley for the weekend. Men's Saturday, Women's Sunday. KTBFFH

I went to a London school… so it could have been about a dozen choices! my uncles were all Tottenham and Chelsea fans… and I didn’t fancy that! West Ham was the local but thought no!
First ever game I went to was West Ham vs Arsenal.. and noticed the away fans were having way for fun!! So my next game was to an Arsenal vs millwall fa cup game at Highbury… 5 quid to get in… haven’t looked back since! |

In Barcelona 1972 Colin Stein scored 1 Willie Johnston 2. 4 lads had a dream to start up a football team they had no money no kits not even a ball. They still carried on and the Rangers were born. 55 titles and still going strong.

Rangers fan, my Dad's team.
Was brought up watching games with him, matching jerseys, going to games. To now, we never miss a game, always watch together. My mum and sister weren't into it, so I'm glad we've always had this one special thing to share, that was just our wee thing. |
