Is cheesecake...

"Also I reckon it's pie rather than cake or biscuit
No. It's not a pie. Shocking.
"
It meets all the criteria for a pie. The main one being I think it looks like a pie.
Today I had a slice of ginger and matcha cheesecake and when it came out I immediately thought "thats a tasty looking pie" |

"It’s both!!
The one at your wedding was bloody delicious!
It looked lovely but I didn't actually eat any.
You didn’t eat any Lorna? that’s such a shame. It was absolutely scrummy. "
I hardly ate anything. |

This is a tricky question for a Monday night. I thought cake at first but now I’m not sure. Banoffee is a pie and that has a biscuit base.
I agree the one at your wedding was one of the best I’ve ever had

"It's a Tart.....
A tart has a pastry base not biscuit "
Not according to Google!
The structure of cheesecake is composed of a somewhat pastry shell with a custard-like filling and sometimes contains fruit. Despite the confusing terminology, cheesecake is by no means a cake. Also, since cheesecake isn't topped with pastry, it cannot be a pie. Cheesecake is, and forever will be, a tart. |

I really missed out!
There's no other option but to do the whole thing again so I can have cheesecake. |

I've not once had a cheesecake that's had anything but a biscuit base |

"The clue is in the name for me so it's a cake
But Jaffacakes are called cakes but not cakes. "
They are only classed as biscuits for cost/tax reasons. They do but don't want to be a luxury, hence the cakeness |

You don't find Cheesecake in the Cake Aisle in a shop. "
Where are you shopping?
In all three of my local supermarkets they are very much side by side |

Real cheesecake needs to be kept in a fridge , most cakes are on the shelves unless it's cream cakes etc.... |

"A cake or a fancy biscuit?"
It's cake. Cheesy cake.
Fancy biscuit, cup of tea, dunk, success.
Cheesecake, cup of tea, dunk, fucking vile.
Cheesecake is cake.
Cheesecake is not biscuit.

That could be how its laid out where you are based and shop , none of the major supermarkets near me follow that order. |

I like it when we tackle the big issues on Fab. Winston is of course 100% correct here! |

It’s a dessert & not a dry one.
Are we talking a cooled cheesecake or a baked (U.S) cheesecake?
I make my own & tailor the recipe to someone’s tastes or requests. Like rhubarb with a mixed digestive & ginger biscuit base. |

"I’ve had another little think about this and I’ve decided it’s neither. It’s a pudding (or dessert for you posh ones). It’s really not a cake and it’s definitely not a biscuit. "
I will go with that though I still think is more of a flan/tart type of thing. |

It’s more that than a cake or biscuit. |

"I’m thinking about cakes and chocolates a little bit too much this week not good for the waist line.
Love a good cheese cake….fave would be a caramel cheesecake with crushed hazelnuts "
I'm making a mental note of this for future reference and by the way I no some truly fun exercises for weight loss not saying you need to lose any . Flick I'm digging a hole here and not my normal kind |

"A cake or a fancy biscuit?"
If it gets hard when it goes off it's cake, otherwise it's a biscuite.
There was actually a court case about Jaffa Cakes being a cake or biscutit and so eligable for VAT so they had to come up with a this definition.
Yes lawyers actually spent days arguing over this. |

"It’s a cake but if it’s covered in fruit it’s in the bin
Lol babs I seem to think I ate your strawberries but not the kiwi! "
As long as you leave the cheesecakey/biscuity part, I’m ok with that |
