I thought the title Apocalypto was in relation to the main body of the film, but of course it's pertaining to what comes after the film! Very clever!

The there's no living with the killing speech and then he rides off with the little boy calling after him we love you Shane to die alone because no little boy should ever see his hero's die .
Cuts me to the bone and turns me into a crying wreck .
The ending of logan has the same effect when Laura resites the same speech over the grave of logan . |

There’s a film called Another Earth written and starring Brit Marling where at the end she meets a different version of herself from a replica Earth. She first saw the replica Earth at the exact moment as a d*unk student she crashed her car and killed a family , went to prison and her life changed but she goes on reconcile this and then wins a lottery to visit another Earth but gifts the ticket to the husband of the family she killed so there are all kinds of online debates about the ending and it’s meaning , when did the film switch to another Earth etc

Not the best in the conventional sense perhaps, but I must give a special mention to the Ethan Hawke film, Predestination which boasts the biggest kind fuck ending ever and one which I really, actually appreciated  |
