I had to Google this; the biggest hit record at around the time I popped into this world, but not on the exact date was:

Heartbreak Hotel by Elvis Presley, whose death I remember extremely well.

Regrettably Elvis, who wasn't the brightest spoon in the drawer, was used and abused by his manager who goes by the name of Colonel Tom Parker, which was not his real name.

The Colonel was actually a conman, who was originally dutch; and Elvis gathered round himself a crowd of fair weather friends who lived off him.

He was only in his early 40s when he passed away, deeply discontented with life having been used by the Colonel to feather his own nest through Elvis's appearances in dreadful films. A sad end to a talented singer!

If the number one was only no.1 for a week, you're giving away your DOB pretty easily. A scammer would only need to try out 7 dates......

Anyone born when Bryan Adams and "Everything I Do" was at no.1 is probably fine

"Hmmmmmm. Shall I disclose my DOB on here?

Yes the other thread asked for date and month, this one for year. Who is compiling all this data

If the number one was only no.1 for a week, you're giving away your DOB pretty easily. A scammer would only need to try out 7 dates......

Anyone born when Bryan Adams and "Everything I Do" was at no.1 is probably fine "

To be fair though, it was number one for about 19 years, so that does make a difference.

I predate the hit parade by a considerable number of years.

Probably Vera Lynn was singing something.

She was around for so long that I could get away with claiming I'm much younger than I am!

From a website:

"The official UK pop charts based on record sales did not start until 14th November 1952. For earlier dates than this, we have used the weekly pop chart based on the sales of sheet music, which was published by Melody Maker and broadcast by Radio Luxembourg from May 1947. (Sheet music outsold records in the United Kingdom until the early 1950s.)"
