Mrs S was 22 when we moved in together.

We had a 3 month stint at her parents' later while we were waiting for a house build.

My mum died when I was 9, my step father remarried when I was 12 and they neglected me so I went to live with my grandparents. I got kicked out at 16.

16. Left to live in digs and work/study as an apprentice engineer.

I did visit home most weekends for the first year or two, initially because my dad’s health was failing, and then to help after he’d died. Once I’d turned 18 though, and my own social life began to develop, I went back less and less.

I packed my job in to go to uni in my mid 20s, and stayed with my mum in the holidays because my brother gave me paid work, but it was only really ever a temporary stopgap. A few weeks at a time was pretty much all I could take of my mum fussing.

Ummm 19 I guess and that’s only cos I couldn’t hack the new country and came to uk

But my parents home was always available to come back too and I guess it’s only really in the last 12 years I’ve had my own home as such full time here ,

I used to work summer season in Spain and at times go to my parents for the winter

my parents never said I wasn’t allowed back or had to leave home , I left home to travel

I'm amazed at the number of people who left home so young. My parents would never have allowed that, my parents to are very old fashioned, which is why it took me so long to leave. They didn't ever want me to leave them. Fortunately for me though I met someone and moved in with him, that's what got me finally away at age 32 x

But left when moved in with ex after 8 yrs she left and now 9 months later with expenses etc they keep asking me go back to help and stuff while save to start again.

But am torn as yes that be nice to help but I have tones stuff and got used to being alone now even though I get very lonely.

I have since used that energy to bounce back and have two companies, 4 bed house and toys.

Used a gym membership for keeping clean but had to quit my education.

I have since used that energy to bounce back and have two companies, 4 bed house and toys.

This might sound a tad trite but you're quite lucky. You're still young, have loads of life ahead of you and somewhere to stay. A new base for a new take off once you've gathered yourself

14 on the streets.

Pulled in a couple of times by the police and placed in care homes briefly but soon absconded again.

It was hard but better than the alternative.

Off to sea at 16 though and never looked back after that.
