When you see bad acting in a film do you continue watching or turn it off?

I just watched last man down on Netflix, which is rated number 3 in the U.K. today.

Jesus it shouldn’t even be on the list.

Where’s the facepalm emoji when you need it?

I tell a lie, I saw it labelled as number three. It isn’t.

Really don’t watch it. It’s shite.

Depends in how bad the acting is, where I am watching, and how soon it is identifiable that the acting is shit.

If I’m at home, in control of the remote, and it is obvious quite quickly, then look for another channel right away.

If it happens toward the end of a film, you might have to tough it out just the see what’s happened with the story.

But if you’re somewhere like a cinema, and it’s quite late in a film when you are hit with a really shit bit of acting (eg andie mcdowell “is it raining? I hadn’t noticed”), then you’re fucked

If the plot’s decent, and the piss poor actor is carried by his or her co-stars, I might see it through.

I don't really care too much about the quality of acting but I do try and finish my wank and clean up before pressing stop.

it depends on how much I want to know the ending.

I watched an episode of Emmerdale a few months ago and was shocked at how bad some of the acting was in that

Two words or one name …. Steven Segal.

After his Hollywood high the guys output is so funny it’s worth watching for the bad acting and scripts.

Line of duty. I've seen better performing wood in IKEA, but programme carried by Adrian Dunbar.

Somewhere In The Ether…

I wouldn’t necessarily reach for the off button; in fact, in certain instances, poor acting can actually serve to raise the enjoyment level - think of so many glorious and cheap B-movies (especially from the glorious 1980’s).

Take ‘actor’ Reb Brown; his performances were invariably bloody awful (and being a good natured sort, he actually openly admits it!) but his films were invariably highly goofy fun as anyone who has beheld the marvel that is, Strike Commando will readily attest…..possibly

I’m going to a local am dram production in a few weeks time (shite acting guaranteed, and a few of them take it way too seriously) ... have to go because some of the neighbours are in it. So have agreed with another couple of neighbours they we are going to meet up and get pissed first, so we can get through it.

Missin’ Yo’ Kissin’

Hugh Grant - he's a bloody awful actor.

I always used to like Dennis Pennis asking him why he was so wooden? Hugh telling him to fuck off was very amusing!

I've gotten the terrible habit of sometimes sitting watching and thinking: 'Its bound to get better' or worse still, knowing that the film is like a chainsaw to your goolies but wanting to se how it turns out and sitting to the end, finally getting up and feeling angry that I knew the result early on but still sat and watched it.

I got stuck with an episode of vera once. I’d rather eat my own bollocks than watch another episode, but I had to find out what happened

I sat through a 90 minute film on Netflix yesterday. Bad acting, weird as fuck story line, set; no clue what was going on with that, but couldn't turn it off.

Tempted to put myself through it again, just to see if I can find the point.

Called Skins. I'm not recommending it. Just don't blame me if you do watch it.

No, an actual film by the same name. Not to be confused with the teenagers. Not even close!!

Id agree, but think vicky mclure is tge problem. Stiff as a board, and its like shes having everyday chats with family, even in stressful scenes. Same thing in trigger point

Sometimes I just let the film run (just so it doesn’t keep coming up on my Netflix as continue watching), but will usually find me here on the forums rather than actually watching or listening
