I awoke at about 3.56am on Tuesday, 50 hours ago.
I have had a total of 6 hours of sleep since. I am not physically worn by it and feel as energetic as a 'normal' amount of sleep would have afforded me.
How are or would you be affected by 6 hours of sporadic sleep in 2 days? |

I'd be a bit prone to yawns. Slightly sleepy. Might forget the odd thing. Generally I'd get through. After about four days of little sleep I'd be a grumpy bum though. Hope it's not because there's anything troubling you, x |

"6 hours is for amateur insomniacs."
It is indeed....If the past is anything to go by, the pace picks up to 2 hours of sleep on average per day for about 15 days and I'll suddenly feel like I was smashed by a wrecking ball and collapse for an entire day. |

Four days seems about the limit for most.
I'm well enough, thank you. Troubles come and go. Time takes care of all eventually. |

"I average between 3-4 hrs per night and have done for 20+ years. I'm on autopilot most days. "
This is the same for me for the past 30 years. I think the difference is that it's even less than my 'normal' and how much more sporadic it is. Sleep for half an hour, then awake for an hour or two and back to 'nap' for another half an hour.....The pattern is what has changed. |

"Very very grumpy"
People often give this answer. What is "grumpy" in your case?
Funnily enough, I am very grumpy when I'm hungry but not necessarily when I'm tired. |

"Grumpy as fuck.
This! X I need my sleep. Sleep is sacred for me "
Many people say this. Is part of your grumpiness due to simply thinking that you haven't had enough sleep, despite not feeling physically tired? |

You are a very regular, methodical man.
Is it because you have a certain bedtime? Mine tends to be within an hour or so of the same time each night and I'll fall asleep in the blink of an eye....sometimes, I don't even remember feeling tired at all. |

Do you 'snap' at people more easily? Inability to concentrate, yes, that's me eventually, after about day 10. |

"I’d vary. I could be fine one time and miserable as shit the next.
That said, I can get a full night’s sleep and still be a miserable asshat."
A bit hit and miss with your mood then. Do you just blame lack of a good night's when you're a miserable asshat to try and mitigate it. People get that "oh, I understand" look when lack of sleep is used to explain away any regrets in our behaviour. |

If you can't sleep, despite feeling settled, can it merely be habit? Perhaps you need to seek medical advice for it, which may help you. |

I generally feel hungover with a serious lack of sleep. I go in cycles where insomnia hits for a week or two then I'm back to my normal pattern.
Mostly it starts with me worrying over something then carries on.

How unusual. That's a very random reaction. Is it dependent on the activity during the day, hence affecting how you react? |

From how you describe it, I suspect it is the case for you that it's the mental deprivation, then joy you get from it rather than the activity depravation from lack of sleep that irritates you. |

"6 Hours sleep in 50 wouldnt be an issue still be fully functioning - sleep is overated "
That is exactly what I tell my friends who focus very much on their sleeping hours. I focus more on how I feel when I awaken. The last time I slept for 6 hours through, I felt like I'd been whacked by a sledgehammer whereas 2 or 3 hours in the wee hours of night and I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed at 4.00am.

The last time I slept for 6 hours through, I felt like I'd been whacked by a sledgehammer whereas 2 or 3 hours in the wee hours of night and I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed at 4.00am.
"
Isnt it do with sleep cycles? I tend to normally go to sleep between 12 and 1 and if I wake up at 6.00am or 7.00am I feel refreshed, if end up staying asleep till 8.30 or beyond I tend to feel crap. |

"I would be out cold on the floor somewhere, I don’t cope on too little sleep at all
That's because you're far too chilled to let anything disturb your Chi.
Haha, no, I think I was just a sloth in a previous existence "
Well, that would explain it. |

"6 Hours sleep in 50 wouldnt be an issue still be fully functioning - sleep is overated

That's pretty much like me except with fewer hours. Extend beyond about 4 hours a night and I feel like I have awakened to the worst flu in the world. |
