Internet! We was talking to doughnuts son last night about when dial up came out and played him the sound!
I said it was even worse when I was his age (13) I didn't have any internet and he doesn't know how lucky he is! Definitely a privilege to have what we have now.

"Free speech."
This made me laugh as I dont think that we have freedom of speech on here
I've heard tell there's a naughty step we can all be banished too. |

"Not worrying if they can afford food to feed their kids or to heat their homes. I'm in such a position now but that has not always been the case. It's a massive privileged place to be. "
That is not a privilige.. it's should be a given in the UK today |

Well I feel privileged Tom, and I don't take my position for granted. Though I agree it shouldn't happen in the UK |

"Free speech.
…..until the terminally offended cancel it."
Erm... It's inappropriate to use terminal in such a throwaway fashion when there are people in hospital with terminal illnesses that are so brave to fight on. Please apologise |

"Without a doubt the NHS, my eyes watered when I heard the price people pay in other countries to have operations, babies and medications. "
The NHS is only free at the point of delivery.. as a country we pay fortunes in tax into it.. |

In Scotland you can have all three. I'm not a Nat, but they are progressive and have a few good policies. |

I didn't meant free although I was aware of that. I meant those countries where women have no access at all. No knickers, no sanitary products. When I read about period huts in India, I feel pretty damned privileged. |

"Is free speech being eroded ?
Not by the State but by some so called pressure groups
Free speech exists… but freedom from the consequences of what you say doesn’t."
The consequences being not the penalty in law but moronic pressure groups trying to cancel them |

We are privileged to live in a society where these things are the norm and taken for granted. |

You are correct - but until we reach utopia it is still very much a privilege. |

"Not being born in the Stone Age, hell even the Bronze or Iron Age or only a few hundred years ago like 99.9% of your ancestors were"
That’s not really a privilege many would assess today though. Given it has feck all chance of happening |

Supermarkets, shops and shipping - I would never in my life have tasted chicken or beef etc if I had to catch, kill, and process it myself. It's so cheap it's embarrassing really. My clothes couldn't be made for the price they are sold at if they weren't made in a foreign country and shipped halfway around the world - we all take that for granted. Remember the panic when the ship blocked the Panama canal last year - the world shat itself at the thought their stuff wouldn't just turn up in the next few days! We're very privileged in the UK, even if we're skint! |

In the world we are living in right, if you have a warm bed to sleep in at night and a fridge full of food.. you are already luckier than you think you are. When others struggle to get their basic needs, everything we have is a privilege. |

"Genetics. It practically determines majority of your success in life. "
That's a vast overstating of the nature v nurture debate. Genetics and environment both make contributions. |

"Some don't think it's a privilege to have children x"
Wait till you get to my age, you then discover it's a privelidge to have grand children. The simple pleasure of their company combined with their innocence help to keep you sane in what's so often an insane world. I took my two grandsons to a park the other week on a Sunday where they met up with old pals. One of them said to our Jack, "Who's that man?" He replied, "That's my grandpa," Then one of them said, "Are you really Jack's grandpa?" I said, "Yes!" And the reply I got was, "Cor, you look pretty cool for a grandpa, my grandpa is old!" When I brought the kids back, and told the family, they creased laughing, and it kinda set me up for the week ahead secure in the knowledge that apparently I don't look like the average grandpa. |
