I’m a massive Propaganda fan so ‘Duel’ is a great song to introduce you to this band.
The Adventures as others have already recommended are the Irish ‘Simple Minds’ just better (in my opinion). The Sea of Love is a great album. |

Most May remember the classics, Big In Japan and Forever Young by German synth group, Alphaville but this synth beauty seems to elude most folks memories:
https://youtu.be/mO3IEDRsP2Q
(Bonus points for anyone who can identify which later, nineties dance act sampled the main riff….) |

Did he he sample it to?
The instance I was thinking of was, Capella with their dance track, ‘U Got 2 Let the Music’ (which was admittedly rather catchy) |

I must admit to playing Atmosphere by Russ Abbot once or twice a year. I just like the idea of helping, in my own little way, him getting a 75p Royalty cheque every few months .. |

Barnes and Barnes, Fish Heads
Let's go all the way, Sly Fox
Come live with me, Heaven 17
I remember a song but can only remember a snippet of it, the lyrics were something like "water, water, when you live on the other side".

I was a huge Iron Maiden fan, and they had some amazing stuff in the 80s. Too much to list them all.
I also loved Chris Rea. "On The Beach" for mellow, and of course "Road to Hell" for the ultimate musical anti-Thatcherism. |

I'm surprised these are not on any list, they were both massive sounds and I remember them thumping out in the bars and clubs in holiday party resorts:
Soul 2 Soul - Keep on moving
Luther Vandross - Never too much |

Loves great adventure was a big hit in mid 84. Then bigger things for Geldof and Ure in Nov 84.....
Geldof wrote Someones Looking At You in 80, a very prophetic song about the surveillance state that we came to live in. 'There's a spy in the sky, a noise on the wire, a tap on the line for every paranoid's desire'

"Male stripper - Man 2 Man meets Man Parrish
Wow loved that song
It is/was strangely catchy and seemed ahead of its time"
That is one of my favourite songs! Classic. It was always frowned upon for its screaming gayness [not by me, no hate please], but I just love the song. I love Requiem by the London boys as well..there, said it |
