My first banana,
The year was 1945 and I was 5 years old,
A large group of American servicemen were billeted close to where I lived, they were a good source of sweets and chocolates but one day we were given a yellow object, having never seen a banana before let alone eaten one we had no idea what it was or what we had to do with it. After much hilarity from the guys we were shown how to peel it and then eat it. Many more Bananas followed in the ensuing months,Happy days. |

First kiss with my husband. 12 years ago today.
I'd finished work at lunchtime and got the train up. He met me at Glasgow station. We'd been flirting for months on MSN messenger and knew we had feelings for eachother. I got off the train, saw him standing there waiting, looking at me with desire. I walked into his arms - and was nearly sick. It's tilting trains on that route. I felt awful.
Made up for it since though |
