Do you like scary movies?

Tell me about the films that scarred you for life? I don't know what it is, but I always find myself binging horror and thriller films around this time of year. I know it's trash, but Paranormal Activity genuinely freaked me out when I first watched it. |

My parents were strict about what we watched as kids, but I had a friend where anything goes in her house! So I watched the Amityville at 8 years old while on a sleepover at hers. Swear to God, I couldn’t get to sleep for the best part of a year afterwards!
That said, I do like scary films. But I prefer a good psychological thriller, to a ‘jump out your skin’ horror. |

Horror is my fave genre.
I used to get briefly messed up but for the life of me I cannot remember which ones did that.
Probably would have been the demonic manifestation type ones. Paranormal activity- babaduke as examples.

Nooooo I'm terrified of horror films, I can't even let my leg hang out of the duvet cover for very long for fear of its consequences ....poltergeist was the first (and last) |

That was a really good one. I grew up with horrors because everyone in my family watched them and made me watch with them since I was around 10 years old, or maybe even younger I cant remember. |

When I was a child I rather stupidly, snuck downstairs without my parents knowledge to watch the two part mini-series, Salem’s Lot.
To say I was scarred was an understatement and I subsequently had recurring nightmares of creepy vampiric children floating around outside and scratching on my bedroom window(!!!)

Love horror/scary movies... have met "Freddie" twice now... what an absolute swwetheart
Even Horizon was the one that gave me nightmares oddly enough... saw it when it came out... haven't watched it again to this day... it was bloody terrifying! |

I read that book, couldn’t put it down not because I was enjoying it but because I was scared shitless, finished it the next day then binned it. |

"I love them. Nightmare on elm Street did shit me up as a kid though.
I had nightmares after I watched that film x"
So effective with the sleeping nightmare angle as you think about the film when you're going to sleep later. |

I used to peek around the door and watch what I could of whatever mum and dad was watching, they scarred me! I quite like horrors but I can’t watch werewolf films or vampires.
But I’ve seen the likes of The Nun, A Haunting in Connectitcut, Paranormal Activity, The Possession, Sinister and Annabelle |

I’m sure you could find someone to watch them with you |

Watching the original IT as a child scarred me and left me with a lasting fear of vents and plug holes!
The Blair Witch Project and The Ring are movies that freaked me out too! I couldn’t sleep after watching The Ring |

I love a good horror film especially Japanese originals The Ring and Grudge. The original Let the Right one in is fantastic too. Ginger Snaps is a firm favourite of mine.
Anything involving clowns or ventriloquist dummies freak me out (probably from sneaky viewing as a kid). |

I eventually got over Salem's Lot and The Howling
It's the original Omen trilogy, that's stuck with me, I'm still uncomfortable with it...
Paranormal Activity, Grave Encounters, Invoked, Borderlands etc.. I'm really thankful those types of movies weren't around when I was a kid

There are films that have actually made me physically flinch or turn away. But they weren't horror movies, and don't affect me any were near as deeply as a decent horror flick |
