"Who has had enough of society and would like to go and live in the wild in a small community and live a simple life. ( with lot of sex obviously). "
Me me me me, again, me.
This is my dream. Off grid old school living.
Would be amazing. |

How long till you miss all the things you take for granted though, I think the dream is one thing, the reality another.
I might come visit for a fortnight but I'll come back to reality afterwards |

I’ve done a fair bit of off grid living and have gone on month long expeditions without any luxuries or comforts, if it’s done well it’s do-able.
A stone cottage in the Scottish highlands would do for me. A small holding that is self sufficient. |

So a village then? Or are you talking a self dependent community free of modern tech and all that stuff?
Not sure I'd go for all that, but small rural community by the sea, yes please. |

Yes! Cos hell this adult life malarkey can be stressful and overwhelming sometimes. Escapism sounds absolute bliss somedays.
I wouldn't last long though before I wanted my usual life back again. |

It would be hard for some people to get used to but it would be as back to basic as possible but there’s loads of ways to get basic power and heating now but for me there would be no wi fi . Fire , food, booze , books and sex |

I've thought of this many times.
You'd have to do a fair amount of preparation though & have lots of knowledge and bushcraft expertise - & aspire to be like Ray Mears.
You don't want to end up like Christopher McCandless, young bloke that renounced all his money and possessions to live in the wilderness. He ended up dying by eating berries that he didn't know were poisonous. The film " Into the wild" based on his short life is great though.
Yes though, I'd like to, to answer your question. |

I've had plenty of experience doing it with the army, it's great in summer, not so great when you're absolutely piss wrapped and gibbering with cold I could happily live off grid but I'd want more than a poncho and doss bag to sleep under |

That does appeal to a large part of me, but sadly, the soft part of me thinks hmmm you're ok thanks lol. |

Love this idea !
Our town is pretty quiet to start with anyways.
Always liked the idea of staying in a cabin off grid for a few weeks and just chill. |

Have had plenty experience with this being a proper country bumpkin, and often discuss with partner about selling up, semi-retiring and being self sufficient |

"Im planning now to do this in 18 months. Ive worked all my life for this and its going to happen. "
That's excellent. I'm not sure how off grid you're planning to be, but if you had a wifi access you could document your progress and put up little youtube videos- like once every few weeks or something.
There would be loads of people interested in this. |

Id love too.
Ive picked up enough knowledge to actually do it.
How to build your temporary shelter while you build your home with your partner your with.
a year to get started or buy for the first year after that self sustained within reason.
Its the hard work that many run away from.
Even I know id like some mod cons like:
Hot water, a nice hot tub to soak in after building some of the home. |
