My dad was always referring to things having fell off the back of a lorry...

Not my dad but my husband has tried this trick before and I put my foot down.

My dad went to see a man about a carpet and came back with a parrot. Another time he went out to see a man about a drink and did in fact come back with a dog.

Mind you, I once went out to see a man about a mattress and came back with a 40" flatscreen TV. Must be genetic..
