"Scrooge the 1970 Albert Finney version.
Terrified me as a kid.
What by Jacob Marley or Ghost of Christmas yet to come? "
Both. Ghost of Christmas yet to come is still creepy now.
Although now I think of it I may be talking about the black and white version with whatshisname. Hmmmm |

The youngsters will love 'Santa Claws'. It's free on youtube and about some kittens that save Christmas! My young nephews thought it very funny!
I like 'Scrooge' starring Albert Finney. That's also on youtube. |

With the talking animals? I saw one called Santa Buddies with talking/break dancing/singing puppies(!!!)
It was….um….well it was sweet for little’ uns and starred Christopher Lloyd (yes, none other than Doc from Back To The Future) as an embittered dog catcher as I recall. Poor bugger - Must have needed the pay cheque badly |

Oh yes! I commend thy film taste madam
I watched one recently which you might like, Santa’s Slay starring WWE legend, big Bill Goldberg as Santa who goes on a killing spree(!!!)
It’s as cheap as all hell, despite a cameo from none other than James Caan(!!!) but is strangely enjoyable in a trashy sort of manner |

I’ll admit that the ending of Jack Frost never fails to cause me to develop an ‘impromptu localised irritation in my eyes’ shall we say….
Great film! |

Gremlins and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation are the only ones I'll intentionally watch. The rest are just for the kids (ok I'll try and steer them in the direction of Muppets Christmas Carol or Home Alone too) |

A superb Christmas film, directed by Billy Wilder and starring many of of the biggest stars of the post-war era, such as Fred McMurray, Jack Lemmon, Shirley McLaine, et al., is the unsurpassed, dark but insightful, monochrome romantic classic from 1961, called
The Apartment.
It is occasionally broadcast on tv; watch it once.
A junior employee hands out his flat to senior employees to have romantic liaisons with junior females.
He falls for a lift operator, who tries to take her own life; but they eventually get together after she abandons a sham Christmas to meet the owner of the apartment, whom she lives and vice versa.
It sounds a bit corny, but Billy Wilder, a refugee from Nazi Germany, is a superb director of quality Hollywood actors.
A deep dark but optimistic Christmas classic! |

The most watched Christmas film ever, but not in the English speaking world, is titled: Dinner for One, starring a former British comedian, Freddie Frinton.
It has been brocast every year for almost 60 years.
