"No, he's fit as fuck but not got the acting skills. Idris Elba is too old to start. I think it will be a relative unknown. "
Yeah might be too old but he would an amazing bond give the whole thing a different edge |

Daniel Craig was mid 30s so needs someone fit enough to take it on depending on what route the story takes to perform some of the stunts. It'll be tough to beat Craig I'm afraid as a bond freak he's unbeatable. |

JB is a lie. It's too far-fetched and fantastical to reflect the world of spies. It's complete make-believe, with small elements to lend some verisimilitude.
I can watch Lord of the Rings, no problem. It's a fantasy world. It has its own internal logic and world. Orcs don't exist in this world, so presenting them from a fantasy world is fine. I have no frame of reference to be critical of their existence, so I have to accept it as given.
But JB is presented as a spy, in our world. And this is not how spies operate. I have a frame of reference for how spies work in this world. There is enough information to get a clear idea of their work. (Smiley's People is probably the closest in fiction).
I've give you an analogy.
Here is dish from our martian friends. It's their own cuisine. It's not like anything you will have eaten before, so you have no frame of reference to consider it. You take it at face value.
Now here is their own interpretative dish of earth cuisine. Bangers and mash. Except it has no bangers or mash in it.
That's how I perceive JB when it's presented to me. Martian Bangers and Mash.

DC as Bond was no better than a wet blanket and should be very easy to better no probs.
In previous post, peeps comparing him to be better than the iconic Sean Connery as James Bond, was nothing short of an insult.

London/Essex... ish... Romford to be exact |
"doesn't work for me, sorry.
Not suave enough for Bond.
Good actor though. Agree! Roger Moore was suave. "
What happened to Dan Stevens? He was a warm favourite not long ago. The star has fallen a bit as he doesn't seem to have been in anything of note in the past few years. |

Tom mumbles to much to be bond, think Idris is a little to long in the tooth for it now.
I think Martin Imhangbe would be a great shout, at only 30 he’s got the longevity to have a good run of 5/6 films. |

Last I heard, the Bond films were 1 of the biggest momvie franchises of all time. So I doubt they're going away anytime soon. |

"Richard Madden would be a good shout. Still relatively young and being Scottish and hot would give off definite Connery vibes"
I would have agreed until I saw him in eternals, his acting ability has fallen majorly in my eyes |

Or you could just watch it as a fictional piece of entertainment |

Refreshing to see nobody shouting for it to be a woman. Nothing against women of course but James Bond is male, no IFS ands or buts. Nobody ever shouts for a male Bridget Jones in the name of equality so leave 007 alone aswell. |

I agree. A woman could play a sophisticated British spy so much better than any of the men mentioned above BUT ffs..... JAMES BOND has HIS genesis in the mind of the writer and has been male throughout the books and all films. I do NOT want a woman to play James Bond. End of .... |

Exactly. It'd no longer be James Bond. It's be a franchise killer. Folk argue it's about 007 so can be played by anyone. Nonsense, it's about James Bond. There have been other 007s in the movies. 007 being a codename assigned to another when Bond retired. The movies ARE James Bond and can only ever be James Bond. |

Yeah - Bond is a white, middle-aged, mysgonistic bloke.
Anything else isn't really Bond.
Interestingly, the powers that be have commissioned a female to write the next 3 Bond films. Be interesting to see how that plays out.

James Bond is male and should stay that way.
007 is a codename given to Bond, and has been given to other agents.
A female 007 (or even a different code name) could be quite good I think. Probably better done as a spin off though, so like doing an expanded Bond universe. |

James Bond is dead.
The post of oo7 (not 007!) is vacant.
This is how they can now appoint a female or someone who is not white to become oo7. My friend is heavily involved in the franchise. He told me this years ago. |

Hardy - No
Gerard Butler - No
Henry Cavill - No
Idris Elba - Maybe
Fassbender - Yes
For james bond not every good looking british actor can play him, they need a very particular style, both looks and acting, to play james bond |

I agree. Jamie Dornan could pull it off but you can’t go from Christian Grey to James Bond |

I think the franchise is dead after the latest awful film. They don’t seem to be putting any effort in anymore. Time for something fresh after instead of trying to reanimate this rotten cadaver. |
