Sometimes. Im a friendly and chatty customer usually. Passer by not necessary as I tend to walk fast..
Sometimes I just want to be alone with music in my ears and don't want anyone to talk to me because I'm deep into the rhythm/lyrics/or sorting my thoughts. |

"I try to, unless they give off a particularly stabby vibe"
They're the ones you should be smiling at. Hopefully you'll suppress their urge to stab you OR they'll get it over and done with faster. |

Yes, say hello and sometimes a chat. Village life.
Did briefly live / work down south and when saying hello got funny looks, never sure if it was just the area or rude southerners |

"In your home town/area do you smile at people when you pass them whilst walking..."
Mostly no. It's London. I was born and grew up here so it's not in my psyche to do so. I do say hello to strangers when I am outside of London though |

Yes, it’s a small village with an elderly population and politeness is expected, so if it’s actually in the village it tends to be Buongiorno/Buona Sera for the more elderly, and more formal. Ciao, for same age or younger, and if you’re on a walk, like a mountain path, then it switches to Salve, for some reason I haven’t quite grasped yet. |

If i pass someone while on my lunchtime wander, I'll always smile or say afternoon.
Sometimes they might cross the road before i get to them - Either because of Covid or, maybe i give off dirty old man pervert vibes |

Yes, can help make someone else's day especially after lack of social interaction people have had in the last 18 months.
Also try and say have a nice day to people working in shops or on tills as they are often under pressure in their jobs and an angry customer is never far round the corner in the customer service industry so why not |

Often yes - but not always. Tends to be more when walking the dog - dog walkers seem to acknowledge each other - some kind of private club. |

"Depends. If there's 2 of them and they are taking up all the pavement and expect me to jump in the road to let them pass... then no smile from me! "
It's me, whizzing along in my wheelchair (above the 4mph max limit) and my chair takes up the whole width of the pavement |
