Noel Edmonds Saturday Swap Shop.
He attracts some ridicule these days, but he has a great sense of humour, made me laugh so often, and House Party to an extent, but particularly his radio work and the practical jokes shaped this my sense of humour as a young man.
I have no friends now though! |

Have you seen the new version on Netflix? It's good, bit darker in tone but still the silliness of the original. |

What do you class as children's programmes, I can't remember watching what I would consider children's programmes but I remember watching Blake's Seven, Dr Who, Star Trek, The Champions, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlett, Joe 90, TISWAS, all during the 1970s between ages of 7 and leaving school. |

In my childhood there were no childrens T.V.programmes.
In fact there were no televisions
We had our first television in 1953 for the Coronation of the Queen, black and white of course, by which time I was 13. |

"The Poddington Peas.
Penny crayon
And thats the poddington peas themetune on a loop in my head for the forseeable
What was that other one that was a cartoon version of the loch ness monster? It wore a kilt i'm sure. "
The family ness
MacToot blows on his bagpipes [bagpipe sound]
While Elspeth and Angus watch those notes go floating across the waves!
Ferocious-Ness appears at once, and grabs a note or two for lunch, [crunch, crunch]
And the whole of the Family Ness is not too far behind!
Sporty-Ness leaps over him, turns upside down then dives back in,
And the beautiful Lovely-Ness shows she's the kissing kind! [mwah]
Eyewit-Ness comes up for air and takein' notes without a care,
Then turns with a crash and a bash and a splash - to the Family Ness. |
