I hadn't given growing up a lot of thought on account of the fact that growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional. So every year that another birthday comes around I think to myself, Dave, one of these days you are going to have to grow up, and then I think again, nahhh, we'll put that idea on the back burner for another year.

When I was around 5 years old, I painted some rubbish picture at school that my dad had on his office wall until he retired. The picture was of a rubbish truck with the title 'when I grow up, I want to be a dustbin man'.
