Amy Winehouse - Will you still love me tomorrow.
It was played at a funeral and I always end up back in that spot, standing shoulder to shoulder because the room was so full and seeing the casket being carried in. It's a love/hate relationship with that song. |

‘My Hero’ by Foo Fighters.
It’s not meant to be sad, but it makes me think of my Dad and that one day he won’t be here. He’s been ill many times and managed to come out on top, but it won’t always be that way.
Gets me instantly, every time. |

I Will Follow You Into the Dark: Deathcab for Cutie. Such a simple song but it does make me well up.
https://youtu.be/3iV_1ESMHaI
Alabama Shakes always reminds me of a friend who I lost a few years back, particularly I Found You.

I always new this to be an emotional song but it was only after my sons suicide last year that I listened to the words, to me they say everything I feel.
I only have to think of these lyrics let alone hear them and I cry without shame like a baby, check it out and see what I mean... This Womans Work, Kate Bush.

I can’t listen to the first one without blubbing (funeral), the second one is more of a remiscent sadness remembering happier times (wedding) |

I've not heard this song before, but listening to it and reading what you said had me all emotional. So much that I don't know what to say other than thank you for sharing such a personal thing with me and everyone else here. |

Hushabye Mountain from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. It was sung at my grandads funeral.
It also makes me laugh to remember my uncles joking before the funeral about singing Me Old Bamboo instead
Pretty cathartic to laugh and cry at the same time |

Flowers In December - Mazzy Star.
Reminds me of a particular Christmas Day, heartbroken in my kitchen.
“They say everyman goes blind in his heart
And they say everybody steals somebody's heart away
And I got nothing more to say about it
Nothing more than you would me
Send me your flowers, of your december
Send me your dreams, of your candy wine
I got just one thing I can't give you
Just one more thing of mine”

'Smokey Mountain Memories' by Dolly Parton
I first heard it performed live and I think it was her lovely words introducing the song and then the lyrics; the combination just hit me
It's about her Dad and the value of family, of the yearn of missing someone, of a man trying to do his best |
