Have you ever heard the term?
My Daughter in Law introduced me to the concept of it and said that a guy can be so ugly he is hot, or so hot that he could be nearly classified as ugly.
Examples she gave were;
Dominic Cumberbatch
Cillian Murphy
Ryan Reynolds
I had never heard it before but apparently it is a thing? |

Nope never heard of it either. If you’re hot you’re hot nothing would drag that down and if you’re not hot them you’re just not hot. Things like being funny, having a great personality, big cock etc could increase attraction slightly but if it’s not there it’s just not there. |

Cumberbatch has unconventional looks, but he definitely is not ugly. But it is easier for Hollywood to ugly him up because his looks are already 'off-kilter'.
Cillian is actually quite striking, but again, his looks are just off from what is considered the norm, which makes them stand out even more.
Ryan Reynolds - in my opinion - is overrated. Getting in great shape has helped his cause. His body is in excellent condition, but his face is not that attractive. Great styling IS his friend.
And while I have heard of the 'ugly hot' phenomenon, I think it can happen, but is rare. The 'hot ugly' theory though?
Computer says no.
I personally believe that few people are TRULY ugly, but on the flip side, there are few people that are exceptionally beautiful.
If you are hot, no one is going to categorize you as ugly. That just sounds like shade.
Your daughter-in-law should go back to the drawing board and propose a new theory.

If its what I think, I look at it the same really, a woman can really attractive with an ugly personality in my eyes makes her ugly in general, a woman who's less attractive could be an absolute gem making her more appealing/attractive in general. Maybe that's just me. |
