It was made to be satirical, to take the piss out of the B movies of the time. What actually happened was it became arguably the first ever cult movie. It completely flopped at the cinema, only to revive to an underground audience that lived, breathed and dressed Rocky Horror.
It was based on a theatre production, so was always going to be better live in the theatre.
As for what it's about? Don't really know, but it really drives you insaaaaaaaaaaane. |
