As it happens I absolutely loathe the word as part of everyday conversation. So I would be far more inclined to refer to someone as an "Intellectual vagina," rather than describe that person as, "A cunt that knows everything." |

You have a point as my wife/Tej hates all swearing especially the word 'cunt.' I hated the word cunt as well and only now use it to refer to clowns as cunts when the let down their loved ones, drive around uninsured etc putting others at risk.
The biggest cunts are I guess are those that think they are hard and bully others at work, via road rage, upsetting next door etc and then cry to the police when they meet more than their match. |

I absolutely respect that some people hate swearing so I never swear in front of someone who I know hates it or I don’t know well enough to know either way but I really don’t understand why anyone has an issue with it as they’re just words. I know people who are really kind, honest, loving and swear a lot and I know people who aren’t nice and don’t swear so I don’t believe whether something swears or not has any bearing on their personality and I’d never judge anyone by whether they do or don’t use swear words. I also think it’s a regional thing as it’s more normal to swear in some parts of the country than others.
I’m genuinely interested to find out why people hate swearing as I’d like to understand what it is about it they hate so much.
My mom never swears but my dad swears loads, he never swears when he’s with my mom though....as soon as she leaves the room he starts swearing, it’s totally natural for him now to be like that and he doesn’t even have to think about not swearing when he’s with her..... |

Valid point. I’ve only started to swear in front of my kids 19/23 because they now do in a non obscene way.
Rarely used the cunt word until recently because a close friend does and I picked it up and got a thank fuck for that comment. It’s only a word after all. Know your audience as it were.

Been part of my vocabulary for as long as I can remember now… strange thing is that I use it 90% of the time as more of a friendly interaction with mates, something like “how’s my favourite cunty chops”

I did work experience at my dad’s office when I was about 15/16 and that was the first time I heard him swear, it was a bit weird at first but I soon got used to it. Even though he swears loads I very rarely swear in front of him, it just doesn’t feel right. I work in an office where everyone swears a lot except for one person who never swears, he says crap sometimes but nothing stronger than that but he doesn’t complain about the swearing and no one tries to force him to swear, there’s no judgment which is how I believe it should be as long as no one feels totally uncomfortable or offended. I had to speak to the ‘non-swearers’ dad once and he was proper foul mouthed, he’s American and every sentence had ‘mother fucker’ in it, I was genuinely shocked at how different they are.
I agree you have to know your audience, I know people who swear regardless of who they’re talking to and I feel really uncomfortable if they’re swearing in front of someone I know doesn’t like it.... |

We don't do public transport but had friends from Canada a few years ago and used the tube. This couple, youngish about 25/30 vapping that shit and it was "fuck this that cunt, that cunt, cunt, twat" it made them look like even biger losers than they were IMO.

In my opinion they would also qualify to an extent, yes. There are more around than you’d think from a cursory glance. But, as I posted earlier, we’re all of us capable of cuntish behaviour at some time or another; it’s very subjective and contextual, but still the valid opinion of whomever feels they’re on the receiving end of it. If we’re guilty of it, however unintentionally, and made aware of it, all we can do is reflect on it and try to learn so that we don’t repeat that behaviour. |
