There always an element of truth to fiction...

The human mind doesn't just imagine things out of thin air.

There is usually some form of substance behind the thought in the first place.

There will be a candyman type figure, much like, say the slenderman etc.etc.

The original candy man was Dean Arnold Corll who was an American serial killer who abducted, non consensual, tortured, and murdered at least 28 teenage boys and young men between 1970 and 1973 in Houston and Pasadena, Texas. He was aided by two teenaged accomplices, David Owen Brooks and Elmer Wayne Henley.
