Do you make a conscious effort in day to day interactions with others to maintain it?
Does it ever intimidate you if a persons eyes never leave yours whilst you converse with them?
Finally, if you do find it intimidating, where do you end up looking?

I can’t look at women in the eye, I have to look at their left ear, with men I can’t look at their left ear I have to look at their right eyebrow, it’s just my thing and everyone who I work with has got used to it. |

I like to look into people's eyes and maintain that eye contact. Sometimes when concentrating on something, remembering something etc I may break eye contact though but by and large, the eyes are the most expressive part of a human, in addition to their (unconscious) body language) |

I do struggle with it a bit myself as I find it a bit too intense/intimate.
However, I will force myself to do so, so as not to appear rude or else to come across as disinterested in what the person is saying.

It can be intimidating or it can be very sensual. There is a big difference between eye contact and staring |

"Totally. Eye contact is a total ‘thing’ for me. The eyes say a lot." I love eye contact. It reveals so much about a person.
It works the same in reverse of course but I see that as a positive things because someone maintaining eye contact with me will hopefully know that I'm sincere. |

I wear a rucksack everywhere I go.
Everytime someone engages me in conversation (on the street to pick up some milk, a work meeting on Teams, at my parents to discuss the weather) I stop, reach into my rucksack and pull out and banana.
I nod and make that agreeing sound while I peal the banana and then I lock eyes with them, eating it nibble by nibble, very slowly; never leaving eye contact.

I do like eye contact when engaging with someone on any level...though I also accept that some people are uncomfortable with this and if they appear to be uncomfortable will make conscious effort to not have as much...more fleeting.
For me it gives a good read on what’s going on.. |

Depends on the eyes I'm looking at... You can tell a lot with a single gaze ...
Some people look away , some eyes are shy , and some eyes are so bloody powerful they are an actual weapon that render you utterly helpless |

I think I may be strange ha ha
Day to day I can struggle to keep eye contact as I'm quite shy.
In work, stick me in a conference room with 100 people and I can maintain eye contact with no issue.
On a sexual/intimate level I maintain eye contact throughout and love to tease people using them to get things I want and flirt with them. |

When waiting to cross the road, I never make eye contact with motorists. It annoys the ones who would allow me to cross in front of them and pleases those who wouldn't. |

I like talking and seeing people in the eyes. HATE and I mean HATE when people can’t look in your face when they talk and they constantly look away. Like what??
I find it shifty also |

On a side note, has anyone here experienced those individuals who really bore into you with their eyes when they speak to you and never even seem to blink, Robert Powell in Jesus Of Nazareth style?
It’s really disconcerting |

It depends on the context. I always love staring at a partner, but only after they have become comfortable with it. I've always been told by partners I've a very intense stare so am always very concious of it with other people and try to avoid significant eye contact as much as possible. |

I don't ever feel intimidated by another but I do find it difficult to maintain eye contact sometimes - it's one of those easy things for neurotypical folk so they don't really think about it being any other reason than a person being... *cue negative trait*.
At work it's easy because I prep myself and I've been doing it for years. I try and do it in social settings but sometimes it's tough. Poor me |

Even in bed wifey. It especially freaked me out when you wore those mirrored aviator shades the other night. I subsequently ended up looking in my own eyes when we were….. |
