"Darts would be good to see. Athletes at their peak fitness. From the Rose and Crown to Tokyo - a fairytale story"
You may joke or scoff but it's far more skillful than javelin, and let's be honest not a great deal of difference. |

Stakeboarding is a sport….so I don’t see any reason why it shouldn’t be an Olympic event.
One of my step sons is a scooter rider and I often take him to skateparks and have watched many skateboarders and the dedication in getting a particular skill correct is amazing. It’s incredible to watch.
So I’m very pleased a sport like skateboarding has been recognised.
Something like dressage I don’t get as an Olympic sport…but someone has deemed it acceptable so I’m not bothered it’s in. It gives people in that sport, a chance to become the best in the world.

First of all, it's called the Olympic games, not the Olympic sports. And skate boarding is way harder than jumping off a diving board. Also known as buzz light-year, falling with style.
If you've got a problem with skate boarding, surely figure skating shouldn't be in the winter Olympics.

Exactly, dancing horses are pretty crap!
I'd suggest that skateboarding is more sport like than clay pigeon shooting, or archery. But I quite like watching both, as I did the skateboarding, because you don't see them too often.
I lose interest with the 1001 athletics events, they always seem to be on the telly, all year round. |

Eh? How is lobing a giant toothpick and riding a tea tray on wheels comparable? |

"I have to take exception to equestrian sports being crap. It takes a lot of skills to convince a tonne of sentient flesh and hair to dance.
"
lol
Ok, maybe not crap as such, but no more of a sport than skateboarding or surfing.
The jumping over high stuff is a better horsey one... |

I'm sure they don't let anything in that doesn't take great skill.
Personally speaking I can admire and respect anyone who is better at something than me whether that be running, boxing, skateboarding, dancing horses, Javelin or anything else for that matter. It's all relative, they are only competing against others doing the same event and they are the best of the best in that field so it commands my respect and I'm happy to give it irrelevant of whether I like the event or not.
When they introduce Olympic ordering drinks at the bar I'm sure I'll represent my country with ease |

"Dressage - dancing horses! Come on
Dressage riders have immense core and inner thigh strength
I don’t doubt it. So do ballet dancers but that doesn’t make it a sport. "
What makes something a sport then? |

"That event in the velodrome where they follow the moped around and the Kirvin whatever it's called. That cat and mouse game on pushbikes.. "
The Keirin. I’m waiting for this one!! They have to train in Japan for a year before they can race. It’s very disciplined & one of the few sports that you can bet on in Japan.

I guess it's if you can compete against another person/ team whilst doing it |

Which is what they do I Dressage .... They compete as teams amd. Individuals.
Same as gymnastics, same as diving, same as many other sports. |

"What's the sport they do where they frantically polish the ice to make the stone go further?
I never saw the point of that.
Curling! It’s great fun

That's the badger. Have you done it?"
Sadly not (I’m working on it!!) but my dad has & it was such a laugh |

It must be different if you can put a personal perspective on it.
You can't beat a good laugh. |

"What about parkour?
That would be an interesting watch. You have to be athletic to do that.
I've just had to Google that I've never heard of it before "
Its quite addicting to watch it done. |

The competitive rock climbing they are doing isn't a million miles away. |
