"I’m going to choose pterodactyl
Not a dinosaur, sorry. It's a flying reptile. "
I'm sure they also ain't classed as prehistoric or jurassic as they didn't go extinct until way way after those periods.
I'm sure that's right ? |

Prehistoric but not a dinosaur, I’d opt to be a Megalodon as I’m terrified of sharks.
It makes sense to actually be one therefore in a weird sort of systematic desensitisation therapy from behavioural psychology sort of way… |

Sing along now
Once upon a time there was a mom
Her name was Mrs. Pteranadon
Sitting on her nest she heard a scratching and said
"Oh boy, my eggs are hatching"
One by one her kids popped free
Baby Pteranadons, one two three
"I'll name you Tiny, Shiny and Don"
But Tiny said "Wait, there's one more, Mom"
The last little baby was a different size
With teeth, a tail and big green eyes
He didn't look anything like the rest
"What am I doing in a Pteranodon nest?"
But dear old Mrs. Pteranodon said
"This is your family and I'm your mom
We may be different, but we're all creatures
All dinosaurs have different features
Come on Buddy, we'll take a vacation
I'll get us a ticket at Pteranadon station
We'll travel the word in sunshine and rain
And meet all the species on the..."
Dinosaur train! (Dinosaur train)
Dinosaur train! (Dinosaur train)
We're gonna ride (Ride, ride, ride, ride)
The dinosaur train!

Oh yes, but I should be all fine and dandy to survive though as long as I’m the biggest, meanest Meg…..or until Jason Statham turns up |

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon |
I'm going to be Deinonychus.
The dinosaur that made the velociraptor famous in Jurassic Park, although not a raptor but a very close imitation this dinosaur had the famous toe claw as portrayed by the "velociraptor", and is actually the dinosaur your looking at in the movie rather than the much smaller raptor that has no resemblance at all to the larger more powerful and aggressive deinonychus
Famous.
Scary as all shit.
And works well in a group. |

To be fair JurRaptor is a featherles combination of Deinonychus and Achillobator.
Too big for Deinonychus, slightly less bulky than Achillobator. (no nerdy emoji!) |

Too much closely related to Archeopterix, more bird like with smaller features and feathers. Deinonychus was also cretaceous Where's jurRaptor although mid jurassic didn't have "that" characteristic that portrayed the "genius" velociraptor.
Deinonychus was much more muscular and agile despite its size being twice that of velociraptor and jurRaptor |

Finally, a thread I can get enthusiastic about! My Palaeontologist heart is happy.
A diplodocus! We're both herbivores and they're my favourite dinosaur. |

Deinonychus was still a bit too small to measure up to the JurRaptor, which was 6ft. Hence the combination of both Deinonychus and Achillobator.
For the sake of...
Hollywood, they did however settle on Montana (for the American audiences) as the dig site of Grant, which certainly would have been a Deinonychus.
Achillobator was the basis for the novel description (it is stated the DNA/Amber was found in Mongolia). Which gave the general description of the creatures for the movies.
Both dinosaurs went in to the creation of the iconic JurRaptor. |
