I just got a pop up on my phone bemoaning the fact that I am apparently using the same password for three different websites (it must be a new feature in the last iOS update).
How many passwords are you presently juggling? (and can remember off the tip of your head)
And for gawd sake, remember to include at least one uppercase character, one number and one symbol people! |

And remember, the symbols you’re allowed to use are $ # @ or & any other symbol would be invalid.. |

"That's why I write all mine down in ma little black book "
What happens if you lose that book or if someone gets hold of it?
I have hundreds of different passwords all managed by a "secure" cloud based password manager. |

It might be a new ios feature or it might be spyware that has your password but not your user name. When resetting use a different device just to be sure. |

I use a formula, example:
Password = Flying
Number = letters in the site name
Symbol = #
Unique to site = first and last two letters of the site.
Password to fab would be: Flying11#frs
Google: Flying6#gle
I don't have to write them down or remember them. Not 100% foolproof, but close.

While you are here, can you also publish your passport number, bank account details and telephone number. Thanks |

Generally speaking the criminals who break into your house tend to be looking for salable goods.
They are unlikely to be hackers or even connected.
So the book idea is not terrible. Cloud servers are good but as we all know it only takes one smart arse to break it and then millions are at risk.
In the end I tend to keep my financial ones in my head, others I write down.
Some that have no links to financial information I tend to use a varient of different words that are personally important but you would be very lucky to guess. |

I can certainly post an example of them, if that's any good to you |

I have one standard password for sites which don't have any sort of financial information on.
I have different passwords for any site which has financial information stored. These I store in a password manager which is cross-platform and I back-up the database using Syncthing (which is like having your own personal cloud).
There is an argument which says using three random words can create secure passwords.
penguin-square-broccoli could take 31 centuries to crack. |

Every one of mine is different. And every one is easy to remember and difficult to guess. |
