I love my photography, I take pictures of anything.
I have an Instagram page that my friends don’t know about. It’s just for me to share with anyone who wants to see it |

I do love taking pics. Candid photos of people…the ones that capture people just as they are. I also love architecture.
Black and white favourite I do miss developing film though!! |

I take pictures of the most stupid things including rows of potatoes, hay bails when they are neatly packed and "decorating" a field, individual leaves when they turn colour, architecture ... anything really.
Looking forward to the day when I have more time for this. |

I love busy street photography , done loads in Africa mostly Lagos, Douala, Kigali and Lusaka. Started to get into portrait and glamour / kink. Like the idea of landscape but always disappointed with results. I have courses booked for Lightroom in the Autumn and will get a Mac but so far just using basic filters and light on a phone. |

I played about with landscapes and found myself disappointed. Then I followed something my late father told me, which is simply to have something in the foreground to give the image depth e.g. a tree branch coming in from one side when for example taking a shot of a field. It did make a difference. |

Orchids are my favourite!
I take them in colour & if they turn out fine then I convert to B & W.
Robert Maplethorpe is famous for his male nudes - but I agree with him that his Orchid pics are amazing. Go check him out...
Love taking abstract pics of buildings too! |

I like a bit of everything really, more often if I see an interesting pattern or a cool lighting effect. Although, having grown up before mobile phones were a thing I often see something and think 'I wish I had a camera with me' and only later, usually too late, realise that I had one in my pocket.
I'm trying to get a handle on astro-landscape photography at the moment, my ambition is to capture the milky way over a stunning landscape, but I don't have the budget to invest in upgrading my camera and tripod at the moment to be able to get the best results |

I just find that it never quite captures anything like what I’m experiencing, whereas street or portrait you can move and create the story. But thanks , I’ll try that next time Wildcamping |

Wildlife , animals at zoos or if sometimes lucky to see in countryside . That can be taken without cages being seen. If out also flowers , trees or any scenery that I like. Do not use phone camera . Only my canon . This so can swap lenses etc or use tripod. |

I studied photography but then had a big gap doing other things before embracing camera phones and everyday snapshots, mostly quite abstract.
My photography hero is the great Don McCullin, famous for his war photography but in his later years he’s taken some beautiful landscapes and still life work. |

I'm a bit of a photographer, mostly landscape stuff, some wildlife. Done a small amount of product photography for a friend's business a few times as well.

I got into photography about 10 years ago buying a Level Entry Canon DSLR.
I wasn't bad at it. Even joined a club.
Trouble is I had to keep writing down settings for different subjects. I forget easy. And often the results were just dull. Just look like a snapshot. Sometimes some really cracking ones.
I bought a Fuji system camera about 6 years ago at a cost of £1200. Didnt like it like the Canon.
I've used it about 8 times. What a waste of money
And since changing my job 5 years ago I've hardly done a thing |

I used to have an ancient Canon AV1 then AE1 and I used to play with macros on the one and the zoom on the other hand.
Nowadays, until I can make much more time I am going to rely on my iphone - you can still take lots of nice pictures with a decent mobile. |

I'm amazed how far camera tech has progressed on phones. My P30 Pro takes better and sharper pictures than any of my previous cameras did for a fraction of the cost but still useless for longer distance stuff |

What I've loved for the last few years is picking up secondhand film cameras I used to dream about as a kid for not too much money (although prices are back on the rise now for the higher end stuff).
So a few in my stable include Nikons F2, F3 and F-801s; Olympus OM1, OM2, Trip 35 and mju-ii; more folding Zeiss and Voigtlanders than I have room to list, and a couple of really nice TLRs (Yashica D and Mamiya C33), all of which have been used. Then there are the lenses, even more of an obsession. |

I love taking photos with my iphone 12 when I’m out and about walking. I prefer it to a camera as I can just pop it in my pocket. I joined a few online groups to learn how to take better pics and how to edit and I’ve managed to take some great photos (including from a trek to Macchu Picchu before Covid). I love taking landscapes mainly but am always on the lookout for something quirky or different. |

I loveeee photography but I don't know much about it to be honest but I am lucky I have a good eye for it. It's something I want to learn more about in the next few years.
My favourite thing to take photos of is my daughter. I also love scenic nature shots. I am obsessed with taking photos of the moon too and capturing all the craters in their glory. I'll usually sit outside on a clear night to have a look and capture a shot.
I just use standard editing app to adjust sharpness, saturation etc. I am pretty good at taking photos and I'm forever being complimented on my skills. |

Other than FAB pics I love taking scenic pics - I (used to) do a lot of hiking and so being up a mountain capturing the first sunrise of the day, is beautiful.
I have a pic on my bedroom wall of the first sunrise of the year, as I wild camped at Malham Tarn, New Years Eve - it’s a special pic - it’s over 3 wooden boards and looks pretty damn fantastic
Snapseed is my go to for pic edits

When I lived in Ireland I loved taking insect macros. We were blessed with dragonflies and robber flies and they'd stay nice and still in the annual five minutes of sunshine. Good lenses and good technique and you realise arthropods are stunningly beautiful, in their own utterly alien way. |

Has anyone thought about looking round for pro photographers that run workshops or field trips help improve your photography. Run many throughout the year normally and do talks and lighting/portrait/glamour workshops at shows and exhibitions. Not offering just making suggestions for genuine keen photographers.

All my photos are post processed but with minimal changes as it is the natural, un-enhanced (as seen) that sells.
Lightroom, photoshop, are fantastic tools but in the end it is the person taking the the picture that makes the difference between, a good picture and a great picture. Computational photography is taking over the world especially in phone cameras but they are still machines.
I will always encourage people who have a passion for photography its essence in it raw form.
Enjoy |

I don't stick any particular genre of photography. Landscape, macro, street, if it's something that has caught my eye and I feel it's worth of going on my insta, I take it.
Editing wise, I'm mostly using ON1 and Affinity Photo.

Started down the slippery photography slope a few years back and a few thousand euros later have a decent bit of equipment assembled!
Action photography would be my preferred area. Anything that moves and is u predictable can make for great images. Also dabble
In fashion and portrait stuff too when I get the time.
Heading away for a few days on a solo trip soon and looking forward to strolling around with the camera and see what I can shoot. |

We think alike although my pants don’t get photographed often "

"Used to love getting out into Richmond Park with my old SLR to photograph the deer.
Nowadays it's just stuff I take on my mobile (mostly of the kids) but have been playing around with macro settings to take more professional looking photos of models I've painted.
I used to have an ancient Canon AV1 then AE1 and I used to play with macros on the one and the zoom on the other hand.
Nowadays, until I can make much more time I am going to rely on my iphone - you can still take lots of nice pictures with a decent mobile.
I often rely on my mobile phone theses days as well, but, the RAW images my D500 or D7100 can produce are stunning, just means editing RAWs in lightroom after lol"
A lot of phones also shoot in raw... But then you have storage considerations! (along with processing) |

"I like shooting music events and festivals.
I also enjoy street photography. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph a couple of parties and attend the photography event at The Townhouse too ."
I loved the photography event at the Townhouse first time I went. This was before the first lockdown.
Not sure if the second one took place last month. Would have been good to attend that as well but I was doing a photoshoot for someone off here, which was a great experience to say the least. |

I (Mr) love my photography usually always have my camera with me and take photos of all sort of things from landscapes to portraiture. The only thing I don't do is wildlife and that is because I don't have the patience to sit for hours to capture the perfect moment.

It’s about three years ago, I went. Yeah, it was a nice event, and staff/regulars were lovely to a nervous newbie.
Hope to make it back one day.
Well, if you have to miss one, that’s a fine reason for doing so . |
