Depressing Songs

See, sad songs that are genuinely heartfelt don't depress me, they evoke emotion and even tears sometimes but they make me optimistic for humanity, that we're still able to feel.
What depresses me is Top 40 shite that everybody else likes. Especially anything by Phil Collins. |

Just because a song is sad,doesn't mean its depressing.

The whole of the first Tanita Tikaram album with the exception of the upbeat "Good Tradition" single which prompted me to buy the album...the remaining tracks of which are incredibly downbeat depressing dirges |

I don’t find sad or melancholy songs lower my mood at all ! If I’m down I find listening to them makes me feel less alone, like someone else knows exactly how I feel at that moment.
My go to sad (not depressing) song is I Get Along Without You Very Well by Nina Simone. |

Beautiful tune that. I actually feel that Itszak Perlman, who it was written for, plays it a bit fast. The slower versions are more haunting and sad. |
