Love 'The Wall'. Have you listend to 'Is there anybody out there' - basically it's 'The Wall' live.
Several albums I enjoy. I have a great many.
What would I recommend. Now there's a question.
'Out of the Blue' and 'Time' by ELO
'Love Over Gold' by Dire Straits
Just a few that come to mind. I'll have a think though and probably come back with a few more later |

"One for you musical buffs, what album would you recommend someone to listen to.
At the moment mine would be The wall by pink floyd "
Not strictly a conventional 'album' but the unique 'Wall in Berlin' version of the above by Roger Waters with loads of exceptional guests is absolute top of my favourite Floydian offerings list. |

Blink 182 - Enema of the state
Queen - A kind of magic
I do like Magic but prefer q night at the opera "
That's a really good album too, tbh any queen album could've been on this list |

"Oxygene: Jean-Michel Jarre
The man was a visionary back in the day (his newer stuff is still ok but not a patch on his first three albums)
"
To all who enjoy similar electronic style of that era, try browsing Klaus Schulze.
I hardly ever see him mentioned on music threads but I have enjoyed his work immensely. Try 'Timewind' or 'The Dome Event' for starters.
Some tracks are lengthy and almost as soporific as a Tangerine Dream concert but lots of good stuff... |

"Skin I'm In - Chairmen Of The Board.
Still sounds great.
Chairmen of the board! What a great voice... "
Funkadelic backed them up on the album. Only just discovered that by listening to it again on YouTube |

Honestly for me, it is probably my favourite cult album. One of those "everyone who heard this started a band" type of albums where you can just listen to it hundreds of times and always enjoy something different about it. |

There will be some who listen and think WTF is this, but great art is always divisive |

Honestly I'd be tempted to put on our profile if they don't like that specific album after hearing it, then we're definitely not their kinda people! |

Looking that way (the last paragraph), unfortunately.
Far too much accoustic guitar strumming and early Bob Dylan vocal intensity for me!
Might give it another go and ask friends for a second opinion. Nothing to lose. Thanks anyway, I wouldn't have come across it otherwise... |

Some all time classics top to bottom there. I'll go a little off-piste and suggest Senser 'Stacked Up'.
Groundbreaking musical agitators of the highest order, Senser were one of the most exciting bands in the UK during the early 90s. Emerging from the strange and nebulous counter-culture that existed in a peculiar grey area between the outer limits of the British rave explosion and the politically-charged anarcho-punk scene, they stood noisily apart from everything else that was going on around them, hurling scything metal riffs and bruising rap diatribes into the mix, several years before the nu-metal scene exploded and turned those same ingredients into something far less challenging or inventive.
(yes I cut and paste that from a review!) |

Will be listening to all their stuff and telling all my Floyd loving friends very soon.
Thanks very much. Great discovery. |

Good choice, John Mellencamp, in his prime, he was the King of cool |

The Band, by The Band. The brown album.
In reality very few albums are 100% all killer no filler, but this is one of the few. If you're not into semi-acoustic folksy Americana it won't be for you, but if you are... you probably already know it. Literally not a dud track on it. |

John Grant - Pale Green Ghosts
SIA - LSD

Definitely. I think I'm up to about a hundred of his albums now. Hard to choose, but maybe 'Babel', 'X', 'In Blue', and some of the ones with Lisa Gerrard vocals. |

Got to have something by the Durutti Column, Vini Reilly is a brilliant guitarist with his own unique sound. My personal favourites are the long-form works like 'A Paean To Wilson' and 'Without Mercy', but I like the short pieces as well, the anthology 'The Best Of The Durutti Column' is an excellent introduction to their work. |
